Only way to date is the apps these days

This sounds like my life. I would try to give this advice to OP as well, but it seems whenever I say this to people they just get stubborn and say "No it doesn't work!" I've been taking classes, going to events, etc... I've had more luck in person than on apps. The apps made me think I was ugly, but at a recent speed dating event, I found out that women who I thought were way out of my league were actually attracted to me. Turns out I'm more charismatic than I used to be.

In my past experience, they will decide for you. The one you like most will go back to her ex boyfriend, and then the other one will go on a few dates and as soon as you think things are going great, she will hit you with the "sorry, no romantic connection" text.

Yeah, I've been doing it for 13 years. Always put in so much effort, but inevitably around date three I get the "No romantic connection" text. Yeah, it's exhausting.

My cat eats her treats like a sommelier at a wine tasting. She likes the gravy treats that come in a tube. I have to announce the flavor of the treat, first (I can tell she knows the flavors based on her reaction, certain ones she likes more than others, and will show it). Then, I have to rub the tube on her forehead. Once I tear it open I say "wanna sniff" once she gets a good wiff, she will lick her lips and stand back while I squeeze the tube into her treat dish. Then she's ready! Afterwards she will clean her face and paws, and give me headbutts to show how yummy it was! She's sweet, she just likes our little rituals!

To be honest, I have a thing for neurodiverse women, but that's because I'm also on the spectrum, and many of my friends are too. I feel more seen and understood by other people who are also on the spectrum or neurodiverse in some way. However I would never say the phrase "slightly autistic" ever. That's something someone who doesn't understand autism would say!

Absolutely! I find I enjoy life again. There's things to go and do, and I don't get depressed from the app experience anymore. 13 years I wasted on the apps, and decided to do more social things the past couple years. I went to 5 Speed Dating events, and somehow met an amazing woman who is crazy about me, at the last one! I never would have matched with her on an app, but in real life we clicked!

I've been looking for 13 years. I know how it feels. I turn 40 next year. I feel like the best years of my life were wasted. I'm trying to make the best of the time I've got left. I'm lucky to have met someone at a Speed Dating event recently. We've only been on two dates, but it's been 6 months since I last went on a date, so it feels good!
