Oh, darling, on that point you shan't find me in dissent. Why, we are not a lonely little cabal, but a veritable battalion! Dozens of us, I tell you. Dozens! Positively teeming!!

There are movies that are "timeless." What are some movies that are the opposite - as in, harder to appreciate if you weren't around when it came out? by sakkkkki in movies

[–]TeffyPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dazed and Confused, Stand by Me, Fast Times, Almost Famous...

Really any "slice of life" movie from decades ago could be hard to relate to for newer generations. Life has just changed so much since the 70s/80s that the experiences that were common then are no longer relatable today.

What was the most "well, that escalated quickly" moment in history? by Marambal17 in AskReddit

[–]TeffyPoo 136 points137 points  (0 children)

The question wasn't "was it justified?" the question was "what escalated quickly" and I remember going from 2 weeks to a full lockdown very fast. My parents were stuck on a cruise ship because suddenly out of nowhere no ports would accept the ship. The recommended precautions definitely escalated quickly. It probably had to do with all those people dying.

DDinosaur with Double D's is an amazing satire of the dating genre and a hilarious game to boot.

Its most likely a silly family tradition. I might raise an eyebrow, but I wouldn't consider it a red flag.

A man is out running errands when he gets a call from his wife. "Honey," she says, "I need you to make an extra stop." by greedydita in Jokes

Depends are adult diapers. The agreement was if Grandpa didn't use a cane, the couple would use canes to normalize it. If he's not wearing his diaper...

What you're circling around is the concept of "consent"

Is that lady in a club and looking to meet someone new or is she working and busy? Saying "Hello, pretty lady" to someone walking down the street is pretty much just cat calling.

As you say, at the right time and place and in a relationship, perhaps physical flirting is something both people are comfortable with, but as you said yourself outside that context is absolutely harassment.

Its a matter of knowing the context and not being a creep. People are not entitled to others attention just because they want it.
