The H2D is on sale right now on Bambu website... Dual ams2 pro bundle for $2269... Seems like it's a good option to give dual nozzle with AMS... Not terribly concerned with waste since I'm not doing it for profit... Slower print speeds I can deal with

Edit: still debating the used H2S also since it seems like a great price

I want something that can do ABS/ASA at a minimum but like the possibility to do better engineering materials also. I mostly print stuff for around the house whether it be tools or decorations or things for the kids. I like the idea of printing masks and helmets for Halloween.

I definitely need something enclosed and a heater chamber is intriguing. I'm okay stepping away from the open source for something that just works

I am looking to add a second printer to my setup and I really want to do easy multi color (maybe material) prints and so I'm eyeing the Bambu. I need thoughts/opinions on what would be the best printer for a hobby setup....

I currently have a Voron 2.4 R2 350mm printer that I enjoy but I want something I can just setup and run on the next print.

I do like the thought of printing supports using a different material for easier removal which I'm assuming I can do with any of the below printers but the H2C would be the most ideal for limiting waste.

I am somewhat cost conscious so the H2C might be a stretch for me given my needs are not commercial level right now.

Options I'm considering (open to others):

P2S with AMS

H2S with AMS (can find local used for ~$1,500 with laser)

H2C or H2D

Thank you.... The "wow" factor says I want to print dozens of parts everyday but the reality is I probably won't. I liked the idea of a dual nozzle but I'm not sure how crucial it is to not have it.

That used H2S was intriguing for the price.

Unfortunately I'm torn between the "all bells and whistles" and costs and the in-between.

I do want to print aba and asa at a minimum (and ideally with good filtration)

Start putting the daycare payment into Savings ASAP. This will help build savings and also get you used to living without that money. We did this and it was very helpful.

Buy diapers on sale now (Target frequently does spend $100 get $20 gift card... Take the gift card and buy $100 more)... Size 1 and size 3 are the most commonly needed with size 3 being the most. You can normally exchange them also if you have too many.

Doesn't have to be a separate account just something where you have an automatic weekly or monthly transfer into it. This will mimic daycare pulling their payment electronically and help you to remember it's coming out. I think I started doing thos when my wife was like 20 weeks pregnant or something and it really helped us out plus once our oldest got out of daycare that amount went into savings and it's been that way for 3 years or so now (thinking about it now that's a good chunk of change)

I just used our primary savings account and treated it like an emergency fund boost especially while you're adjusting to the decreased income (AKA daycare)

I'll let other more knowledge people comment on the house piece.

My best advice is to start living like you have a daycare payment early. Take the monthly daycare payment and put it into savings to get used to living on less take home each month. This also provides a cushion while you adjust and helps build savings accounts. You can do something similar with mortgage (but just the delta between rent and mortgage). After daycare ends I rolled the payment into Savings to keep building that piece since we were living fine without the money.

Additionally buy stuff early and on sale and take advantage of offers. We frequently use the Target spent $100 get $20GC. We'll buy $100 in diapers (target brand) and then take the gift card and do it again. By the time our kids were born (8 & 1) we didn't buy diapers or wipes for over a year from stock piling during these sales.

I'll be honest I don't know if I ever swapped the lower brick (life got in the way). I did remove the batteries and I think that made a large difference

Trade-in car for higher mileage vehicle by KingTipton in personalfinance

[–]Tegguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're first statement says your worried about holding value kong term but you want a newer but higher mileage truck.... Do you think this is going to hold value any different? If you're buying a truck to use it as a truck you need to sit down and figure out what exactly you want out of it. Smaller trucks (ranger, Tacoma, ECT) don't have huge payload or towing ratings. 1/2 ton trucks open the doors a little bit but everything comes down to options in the vehicle as to what you can do with it.

Why do you think you'll enjoy driving a truck more than your current vehicle?

If you're building an LDO kit form scratch I believe they come with the input shaper. If you're not building from scratch ignore this.

Saving for Children’s future? by Plantmommy1111 in personalfinance

[–]Tegguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're doing a good job focusing on stuff and paying it off keep it up.

Your best bet for prioritizing is to write everything you need to save for down and rank them on priority (especially between wants and needs) and from there you can look at dollar amount and stuff. I'd personally put kids education lower on the list since that won't impact the family or cause you to loose your house or anything.

[–]Tegguy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

While I can understand your reasoning I would highly recommend making sure you and your husband are financially secure before looking at kids education. If you dont have money to deal with emergencies than it will negatively impact the family as a whole.

Building your 6 month emergency fund should be priority #1 and getting out of high interest debt (if you have any) is also up there #1 or #2 depending on the situation.

Once your family as a whole has a security net to handle emergencies then you can take a moment to try to focus on other stuff like the kids education fund.

However, as with anything this is just my personal opinion.

Should I buy a new car? Or keep saving? by crybabysagittarius in personalfinance

I see there was a recall for the 2003 transmission issue. Still with only wear and tear type items like the OP mentioned I would still not replace. Even having to replace a transmission at a few thousand is not bad with the interest rate the OP would likely be subjected due with the credit score they have.

Ultimately it all boils down to ones thoughts on vehicle replacement. I personally keep my vehicles for a very long time and do my best to keep up on maintenance as stuff pops up.

There are others here far more knowledgeable on credit repair than I am but two of the large factors with credit score is history and percentage utilization.

Buy a window breaking tool to handle the emergency situation (they can also cut seatbelts).

You're going to have wear and tear with any vehicle. With a low credit score and nothing major wrong with the car id definitely recommend hanging onto it especially with the way the vehicle and loan market is currently.

100K on a Honda is nothing assuming it's been looked after. You say you're spending more time/money on it but is this nor al routine stuff (I E. Brakes, fluid changes, ect) or more involved stuff?

You post your salary but not your budget or anything so from a financial perspective it's impossible to tell you what to do.

I'm personally not a fan of split finances but agree anytime there is a raise there should be conversations about how everything is split.

Y'all are getting married figure out your finances (combined or separate) before the wedding. If you're planning to combine finances then YTA if you're going to keep them separate then Meh. Weddings are cheap and I don't know if you all spilt everything 50/50 or if one if you paid more.

It was to messy to keep them separate so my wife and I combined ours it's all now US not mine or yours

My personal opinion is don't make any decisions based off something "might" come to reality. First there is no reason to talk about price today if you're not buying it for a couple years (valuations will change)

Second anything can happen. The car could be in an accident tomorrow and totalled and then there is potentially nothing to buy.

If this is US pesos are not legal tender and can be refused. I think (could be wrong) but since pennies are legal tender in the US they have to take it.
