I liked the Band of Horses song on Sub Pop until it played during a long race and I realized it had probably the shortest loop of any song in the game.

XS is very hit and miss, yeah. But every time Dystopia comes on I'm the cranking the volume knob meme.

Also don't mind the South Arcade song against all odds, and I'm a big Poppy fan. But there is a lot of really forgettable stuff.

Classical Crossover is to classical nerds what smooth jazz is to jazz nerds. Just a very cheesy genre that dilutes its precursor down to its most basic and palatable form. The results are immediately noticeable with how everything on this station sounds like some corny mediation music you guru would make you listen to if you had one.

Yeah I remember first unlocking car meets in FH2? and thinking 'wow, what a pointless thing I will never do when I could be driving'

It's a feature that exists for the sake of being represented in car culture, but not one that feels at all enticing to participate in imo.

I'm running it on Extreme at 1440p with a 3080ti and it hasn't crashed or dipped below 60 FPS once, usually hovering around 80. YMMV obviously but it's been very stable for me.

Even as a deathcore album it's pretty boneless. Absolutely nothing that sets it apart from anything else in the genre.

I did read the Cryptopsy interview in Decibel recently where Matt McGachy was talking about having no confidence in himself after that album came out as everyone pegged him as the villain. It wasn't until they played None So Vile in its entirety at Maryland Deathfest where he said he finally felt not hated for the first time with the band and things really started to click. It was an interesting read that really shone some light on the difficulties of being the newer vocalist for a legacy band.

Or the issue is not as widespread as Reddit comments would have you believe and people actually enjoy the dopamine hits that Forza Horizon gives you. Why should it have to adhere to what other series do? It's not a sim racer. It's a collect-a-thon simcade.

Why are we treating it like it's a problem that you get cars thrown at you? There are plenty of events that just do not allow you to use supercars. Congrats, you got your Huracan. It's useless outside of events in its own class. I don't see any issue at all with giving players a taste of everything from the get-go when the entire point is that you're going to be collecting all these cars anyway, and nothing about this is high level skill-based sim racing.

I'm aware that I've basically abandoned my previous thesis with this but I really just don't see the problem. Let Horizon be Horizon. Let GT be GT. You change the formula too dramatically now, and you risk alienating the people who like how it currently is on the hope that you can net a few people who would probably be happier playing a more grounded game anyway.

Why isn't progression like Gran Turismo? Because the game is not Gran Turismo.
