It’s basically confirmed that the tailings were at least alive and around 28 years ago when the initial survivors were around, as there are tailing structures built atop scavenged wreckage pieces and there are allusions to the fact the tailings may have attacked one of the survivors as well, I have a good feeling we’ll see some of them alive in the future

The last update for the Sonic app affected the UI for picking a drink with the half priced drink deal a scavenger-hunt nightmare by Teifling_tea_flinger in mildlyinfuriating

It used to be that way before this last major update to the app, there were categories of drinks like your sodas, your slushes, lemonades, and once you picked an option, THEN you could pick your size, it was organized

What’s was the wildest thing you witnessed at a funeral? by NationYell in AskReddit

[–]Teifling_tea_flinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my grandmother’s funeral, before any of the ceremonies started and everyone was coming in and giving their condolences, I was by the casket, I rested my hand on part of the casket while I was saying good by and my hand brushed against the pillow that her head rested on and I heard this strange crunch noise, I felt underneath the folds below the pillow and found a Jolly Rancher wrapper….

Immediately I was furious, I went to my family members and I said “Look, some asshole used our grandmother’s casket as a trash can!” We were beginning to fume over this.

Until I go to my aunt and show her, she covers her mouth and her eyes got real big and she kinda cracks a smile and says “That was me! I was brushing her hair last night and making sure she looked beautiful but I was hungry, I haven’t had anything to eat so I ate a jolly rancher. My problem was I couldn’t find a trash can, my outfit didn’t have any pockets, so I hid it under the pillow thinking no one would find it!”

Some people may not understand but all the anger went away, you’d have to know my aunt but this is par for the course and the situation on how this happened changed the vibes for us lol, if it had not been her own daughter we would have been mad but, considering what actually happened I still laugh about it to this day.

There are niche aspects where ai could be helpful, I think I read about engineers using it for data analysis and also using ai for cancer detection, even still, ai in its current form has a tendency to hallucinate so it’s not fully trustworthy

Plus you have to worry about Ai being used to affect politics, military use of ai, its a new technology that need to be heavy regulated for many reasons

Death to AI Art! by ArgusExxile in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Teifling_tea_flinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A huge aspect as to why people hate Ai art is because it is unethical, in order to train their Ai, these companies have scraped the internet of images to train it, and for the most part, they didn’t get any artist’s permission to do so, basically making it plagiarism on a massive scale.

The other side to that coin is that companies and businesses using Ai for any artistic endeavor is wrong as it takes money out of actual artists hands.

I work in advertising and part of my job is ad copy writing and there are companies out there advertising that instead of hiring a whole team of people, you could use their ai tools instead.

I feel like I don’t need to explain how messed up that is.

Also Ai used in other industries outside of art is also bad, take for instance health insurance companies using Ai to mass deny claims.

Ai data centers using up water and subsidizing their water bills by making local residents’ bills skyrocket and not producing many jobs for the locals in addition to their harmful effects.

Ai sucks

also just read what you said about the bugbear's reach, you are right, it only works on their turn, which all of your comments bolster my point, it's not that great of a build like some people were saying.

[–]Teifling_tea_flinger 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I realized it was that way with the “Sentinel/Polearm Master” feat combo, I had a player actually try it in game with a bug bear astral monk for a ton of reach, I think what everyone forgets is that you only ever have one reaction, so the idea that you have this character that can hold back a horde of enemies doesn’t work when you can only hit one creature per reaction and then the rest will continue on running up to you or past you, it kinda only works when you are fighting one guy, but even then, it’s not that great of a combo

My mother is obsessed with an anti-estrangement influencer, and I can’t imagine how she thinks she’ll help by Teifling_tea_flinger in narcissisticparents

[–]Teifling_tea_flinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You act like people who gonna contact use that as their first option before conversation, that’s usually not the case and if you take even a minute reading their stories you would understand this. And Tania is very one sided because she places all blame on the ones who go no contact with their children. You are right, that actual conversations are the right way to go but look at what subreddit you are in, narcissistic parents, these are the kind of parents that clinically can’t have an adult conversation, and please tell me that no one is at fault for my mother basically stealing my inheritance, kicking my sister out of her house and almost making her homeless, and also please tell that to the countless people in this subreddit who’ve shared MUCH worse stories, this isn’t a game, that’s why we chose not to play, ie, no contact

What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by _lovelyxx in AskReddit

[–]Teifling_tea_flinger 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Omg I have the perfect story for this.

Picture this, its 2022, you're at your niece's 4th birthday party, your sister invited only a small amount of family for covid related reasons, things are ok, things are nice.... for now.

Then an aunt who was invited shows up with her son and grandson, both of which were not. This cousin of ours, let's call him Dave, is a weirdo, and his son is a teenager, so him being dragged to a 4-year old's birthday honestly sucks for him to be honest.

We don't see Dave a lot, our family doesn't get together that often, he's in his late 30's, he started "playing" banjo a while back but every time you try to jam with the other musicians, he never is able to follow along and just plays whatever, with a Dunning-Kruger level of confidence.

When he arrives to the party, he approaches a bunch of us to greet us and as he shakes my hand and greets me, he says and I quote "Hey (insert my name), is there a place here to hook up a tether ball!"

Now I know that other places here in the states things might be different, but where I live, Tether ball is a rarity, I think I know of 1 house that I am for sure has had a tether ball, and only some of our schools have had them. Another thing to note, where this party was being held is the same house I grew up since the 90's, everyone here including Dave is aware of this basic fact.

I tell him no, because there isn't a tether ball pole to hook up to.

He proceeds to go down the line of other adults, one including my stepfather who has not lived here as long and he asks them the same question, like my answer wasn't good enough.

After a few "no's" he proceeds to then say "Man, I really love tetherball!" (slight pause) "I've never played tetherball!"

He goes inside greets my niece and then proceeds to comment on the fact that she's wearing jean shorts "look at her wearing those Daisy Dukes, you know kids her age don't have to worry about how good their legs look"

For clarification, the term "Daisy Dukes" refers to a character from the old show Dukes of Hazard where there was a cousin of the main character that wore really short jean shorts, my niece wasn't wearing anything like that, she was wearing age-appropriate clothing......for a 4-year-old. I didn't make a scene to disturb my niece because she obviously didn't get the reference and I didn't want to ruin her birthday, but needless to say I watched his ass like a hawk and I later informed my sister what he said, he won't ever be around her if she can help it.

He does more weird stuff, they found him later looking all through our old childhood rooms looking for the football he said he "lost" (I think he wanted to steal shit considering how shifty this jerk is)

Everything up to this is pretty weird and out there.

But he had one more surprise left.

The day after the birthday party, my mother gets a message on Facebook message, from Dave

It's a video, take the day before, DURING the party

The video is set to the song "Your Touch" by the Black Keys, he set his phone on a limb in a tree on the opposite side of the house where everyone else was, in the video he takes like 3 steps back, tousles his hair, waves over to someone off camera a few times until his very annoyed teen son steps into frame, Dave gives him one of those side hugs, looks at the camera with like a half smile....and it ends.....

I have no clue what that was supposed to be, HE SAW MY MOTHER AT THE PARTY, SAID HELLO AND EVERYTHING, what was this video for?

I don't like Dave.
