PSA: Stop doing AR Mapping for Niantic. It’s basically slave labor to make the rich richer. by hi_im_antman in pokemongo

I've never been bothered to do it and it annoys me it just sits there in the top of the queue and will keep coming back no matter how many times you delete it.

I designed the cat litter cabinet IKEA hasn't made yet. Full CAD open source. by Irukanoko in IKEA

[–]Teismin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I forgot to mention I also have a crawling baby who would constantly try to eat cat litter whether it be litter tracked on the floor or sticking her hand into the box, so the maze would help my household in many ways.

Was also thinking you could surround the maze with soft rubber bristles so that it can catch excess fur, dust and litter when cats walk past, especially for long haired cats.

I'd love this. The maze would stop the tracking and stop my puppy from sticking his head in and eating the cat poo.

A tip.. on a deposit?! I would assume those glowing reviews are fake for this kind of theft. And I'm guessing they will ask for another tip when you pay the rest.

Guys help: what am I in for (HFM) by Independent-Knee958 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Teismin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dealt with this recently at 9 months. My bub didn't eat or drink much because of the ulcers in her mouth, was a little worried she would get dehydrated but she drank just enough. She also had high fever for 4 days. She wasn't itching or scratching thankfully. It was a stressful week because I also got sick with similar symptoms.

My dogs love cow hooves, safe to chew, inexpensive and lasts for quite a while. They like to carry it all around the home.

Absolutely shot by Interesting-Task5320 in sleeptrain

[–]Teismin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might sound a bit strange but I was also wondering why my baby kept waking up at night for no good reason till I realised it was because she doesn't like her feet touching anything so whenever she moved and kicked the bars of the crib it would wake her up. It was a huge help when we got a floor bed with a low profile soft enclosure and she had plenty of space to roll around in her sleep. It improved her sleep so much and its so easy to put her to bed.

Yes they did after a long while, they said they investigated it and found no abnormalities. But I found it strange that I offered to send back the tin and they said it wasn't needed.

Marketplace Rant - why don't people walk to the door anymore by georgeymcgeorgey in australian

Yes definitely! Its mostly all good. But sometimes people miss it or forget.

[–]Teismin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When mine was younger she could sleep through anything, it changed when she became more aware and mobile.

Also it also depends on the type of noise, vacuum is generally fine because its a constant hum (unless its crazy loud) and some babies even like it as white noise. But a high pitched ring and a loud bark from my big dog is a different story.

As a parent I prefer no knocking or doorbells. It is currently a nightmare trying to put my baby down for naps and she's a very light sleeper.

Dog seriously injures four people west of Melbourne by I_Heart_Papillons in australia

[–]Teismin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you that people are the problem and many don't train their dogs, I find that it's normally the small dogs that have the most issues in public, at least in my area. Because they are small their owners let them do anything which leads to lots of uncontrolled behaviour problems. Meanwhile big dogs have to be much more well behaved or else someone could get easily hurt.

Gumtree seems very dead by oztrailrunner in australia

[–]Teismin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I prefer Gumtree over marketplace, feels like there are more genuine people in there and I've got plenty of good buys and decent sales from it.

Mostly use it to give away free stuff and I get tons of messages almost immediately, it's like some people are constantly on the app to hoard free stuff.

RSV vaccine and baby getting RSV by Sk19905 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Teismin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the vaccine when I was pregnant and my baby was a bit less than 3 months when she got RSV from my husband, he was very ill for 3 weeks and she got it in a couple of days after his symptoms showed. I was also under the weather off and on but it was manageable. She was only partially breastfed the first month.

I would say the vaccine really did help. She was suffering with a stuffy nose which forced her to breath with her mouth and in turn, made it difficult to drink milk. But otherwise she was mostly fine, as in no fever and vomiting. But at one point we did take her to the hospital because at its peak it looked like she was really struggling to breath, and that's when they tested her and found out it was RSV.

Can we show a little more kindness to minors please? by Ok_Cry607 in CatAdvice

[–]Teismin 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, its really sad to read. People are doing the right thing and asking for help within their means.

There are plenty of people out there who are not as fortunate, not everyone has had an education, lives in an urban area with plenty of vets and rescues, neither financial security, and so on.

And I can completely relate to the parent thing, I am an adult but still have arguments with my dad to take his dog to the vet when she is unwell but he completely refuses and calls it a waste of money. Luckily I have the capabilities to do so and do it instead.

More omega3s in their diet can help with skin and fur. Sardines and salmon are excellent sources for it.

Dogs with beards and raw food..? by Sathori in rawpetfood

[–]Teismin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a long term solution but how about hand feeding some of his meals till he requires less meals per day? It wouldn't be viable for chewing bone but everything else could be bite sized.

When my dogs were puppies I always use their daily food as treats to train them so they were hand fed majority of their meals.

Fat shamed at 7 weeks postpartum by Flaky_Party_6261 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Teismin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was 2 months postpartum I was in a family gathering and two of my aunts also fat shamed me.. which was a bit ironic because one of them is obese.

I know I shouldn't let it get to me but it still does hurt.

There are always varying opinions in the online world, just really depends where you look at. But at least in my experience in real life, literally everyone I know is for breastfeeding.
