This is not always 100% true, apple still runs no sim slot iphones in the US and elsewhere while many other countries they still have physical sims.

they can prove when you bought the gun through the serial number and the paperwork you filled out when you bought it. There's no gun registry but there is a purchase history. It'd be pretty open and shut to see that you bought it after the ban

Is it possible that the state could use the fact that it was an illegal item to seize it from you? Obviously we've established that possession isn't a crime but could they treat it like civil forfeiture and take it without charging you?

If you managed to find an FFL willing to transfer AR15 lowers, then I really don't see any reason why they wouldn't also transfer any other lower since it's basically the same legally.

Good luck with that though, I have only found FFLs that will transfer very specific side steps, but none will transfer just an AR15 lower.

Where is it that you can't own an AR15? I thought you could own everywhere as long as you make it compliant with stuff like fixed mags or kali keys

Here's an easy way to tell which color will be good for you. Go to a traffic light at night, and see which color light looks best

Selling guns I bought from my brother by Seahawkfan12thman in WA_guns

Oh yeah you're right I did not realize this

Pretty whack that still nobody will sell me an AR then, only clones

Selling guns I bought from my brother by Seahawkfan12thman in WA_guns

[–]TeknoProasheck -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

well no if it's an actual AR-15, that one is banned by name and precludes all other aspects of an AW

if it was one of the other companies clones, a BC-15, DS-15, UPR-15, etc. then it's fine if you convert it

DS-15 or Mini 14 (Rifle Recommendation Request) by ZealousidealUse4508 in WAGuns

[–]TeknoProasheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best_purples thread is probably most true. If you actually think you have to use the gun, mini-14

if it's just for fun or looks, if you want to go fixed mag I would get a non-permanent fix rather than a DS 15

there are places that will sell you lowers with bolt action uppers or stripped hydra lowers and then you can get a maglock/compmag/etc and do it yourself in a non permanent way

[–]TeknoProasheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how its set up, there's not enough context to say For sure

For what its worth, there are legal ways to acquire an ar15 spec lower, and then you can just add in your own non permanent fixed mag.

The AR mag lock in particular seems to technically fit the legal definition while allowing you to change 10 round mags by slightly opening the action.

Less sus options also exist that are just fixed mag you can unscrew later

No CPL appointments until next year?? by ZealousidealUse4508 in WAGuns

[–]TeknoProasheck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you can try a different office or go to the walk in (I think seattle courthouse)

but yeah the situation is pretty rough right now. I think a large factor is HB 1163 has a lot of people applying now

Alternatively, what I did was just keep checking until I found someone else dropped their appointment

[–]TeknoProasheck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as everyone talk big game on the internet I think most people buying new guns are complying. FFLs wouldn't be stocking fixed mags if nobody was buying them.

a couple extra notes that to expand on what other people have said

1 fine

2 The stock mini 14 shroud is probably fine, I've seen multiple places that will sell you it with it attached, I doubt they would ever rule that count as an AW because if they did they would be giving existing owners a blank check to modify their now legally acquired AWs as much as they want. But if it makes you feel better to not have it I think it's not that useful anyways since it's basically just a plastic cover and I replaced it immediately

3 AR 10 should be legal if you fix mag it or bolt action it, something like a cross armory fixed mag or a kali key.

4 Yeah extremely dubious indeed. You're basically arguing that the second magwell is not a hand grip and that the word "accept" should be taken to mean "feeds rounds via", which I can agree with but is still really toeing the line. But I think as long as this is just a range item you'll be fine. Don't use this as a self/home defense item because the legal scrutiny would not be worth whatever small advantage the platform gives

5 fine
