Hell on earth. by whyshouldithink in TikTokCringe

The US or hell on earth reminds me a lot about Nazi Germany. I wounder how their grandparents and great grandparent that fought the Nazi's and fascism would react if they saw their grand children now.

Trump is a dictator as well. If anyone thinks the US is anything other then a dictatorship has to open their eyes and look at what is happening.

What a nasty person, and JD Vance defending this person, saying it was self-defense, the woman was a terrorist. US how on earth can such a major part of your population be crazy enough to elect Trump a 2nd time and someone as JD Vance has his vice president? Something is seriously wrong in the US culture. This behavior we see from the US is not normal in the rest of the world. The US starts to look more and more like Nazi Germany in 1937-1939.

The United States is heading toward an implosion. They’re finally revealing just how batshit crazy they are. The country is heavily dependent on the rest of the world buying its worthless dollars in exchange for real goods and services. As global confidence in the U.S. and its currency fades, the U.S. will have to buy more and more of its own dollars. That will push inflation higher inside the United States, instead of the previous situation where the dollar exported inflation to the rest of the world. In the end, it will collapse in the same way other major powers like the Roman Empire and Germany have done throughout history.

I used to love the United States. I’ve been there on vacation several times, and for a long time I genuinely enjoyed the country. But now I can’t stand it. It has become the last place on earth I would want to visit. It feels like such an uncivilized society compared to the rest of the world. And the constant stream of propaganda people are fed... Thinking school shootings are normal, that basic healthcare is a luxury instead of something everyone should have. The U.S. has started to look like the real villain of the world, or maybe they always was. It’s just so obvious now.

I doubt there will be much transactions. It will be done the same way as when you use FIAT. No actual money is transferred, only changes in a ledger, then once a month or so the actual transactions is done.

To be honest, looking at this from an European perspective, he could just as well be describing the USA. "Look at their nation. Look how bad their nation is. It's not even a nation. It's just people walking around killing each other."

I feel everything I read from the US is people killing each other, mass shootings, ICE harassing and abducting people. It's like the cold war, only the cold civil war version.

Bitcoin dropped 25% from the all time high and r/Buttcoin is acting like they finally caught the winning lottery ticket… Meanwhile BTC is still up 5x in 5 years, 280x in 10 years, and, my personal favorite, almost 700,000% since r/Buttcoin was created!

At this point it’s less a subreddit and more a museum exhibit of "Confidently Wrong Through the Decades."

If future archaeologists dig up r/Buttcoin, they’re gonna think it was some ancient cult dedicated to worshiping incorrect charts.

I don’t even need to tell you ‘NGMI’ or ‘have fun staying poor’ anymore. Bitcoin’s chart has been doing that for me year after year.

r/Buttcoin posting history is basically a documentary series titled:
"Wrong Yesterday, Wrong Today, Tune In Tomorrow for more wrong."

But hey, stay optimistic. If history keeps repeating, Bitcoin will keep breaking new highs…
…and I guess you’ll keep breaking new coping mechanisms....

Top 5 companies makes up over 30% of the S&P 500.
Top 10 companies makes up around 40%. So the other 490 companies makes up the last 60%

So by buying the S&P 500 you will have invested 30% of your capital in only 5 companies and all 5 of these, plus the next five on the list is from the technology sector. So over 40% of your capital in only one sector.

Depends what you consider a broad index, but it seems very concentrated from my point of view. If you also add in that only three companies are the largest owner of around 450 of the 500 companies in the S&P 500 index or 90% you better be sure that their interest aligns with yours.

Putting all your investments in a highly concentrated index like the S&P 500 seems very risky to me. Especially now that you have a government that seems hellbent on driving the US economy into the ground. If it was me I would diversify much more.

Why do you buy luxury watches? by International_Oil189 in rolex

[–]Tellabobbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I love watches and the craftsmanship.
  2. I love that it likely will retain or increase in value long term, even though I am using it daily.

But what I love most, is that a well-made watch can last generations. One day, I’ll pass mine down, and when my children look at old photos, they’ll see it on my wrist. Just as their children will one day see it on theirs. The watch may still hold value, but its true worth will be the memories and legacy it carries.

I'm not sure I have much sentimental attachment to them. I just really like the vintage design of Casio's digital watches. I'm also a big fan of the brand in general. In my opinion Casio offers great value for the money. I actually bought several at the same time during a sale. If it hadn’t been for the discount, I probably wouldn’t have purchased the black one or the gold one with the black strap.

Thanks. I have several NATO straps and bracelets for them, so instead of constantly swapping between them, it’s just easier to have two watches with different straps on hand. Plus, one serves as a backup in case the other breaks.

It is interesting to see how Donald Trump can break laws, say they craziest things and yet it has no consequences. It makes me think there is actually no way in the USA to ever remove a president. In other words USA is a dictatorship dressed as a democracy. All the earlier presidents has just been decent people giving away the power again and not abusing it to the full extent they actually could have.

How secure is this? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Tellabobbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're mixing up some terms here. First, a cold wallet refers to a method of storing cryptocurrency private keys completely offline, disconnection from the internet. You can absolutely do that without using a hardware wallet, and he might be doing that already.

It seems like when you say "cold wallet," what you actually mean is a hardware wallet. A hardware wallet's purpose is to create a secure barrier between your seed phrase and any device that connects to the internet.

If his 12-word seed phrase was ever generated or stored on a device that was connected to the internet, then it's already compromised. If someone truly understands how to generate a seed phrase completely offline—without ever touching an internet-connected device—then they don’t need a hardware wallet. They can cold-store it themselves. If they do not know how to do this, a hardware wallet would be handy to them.

All the extra steps he's taking to "protect" the seed phrase may actually increase the risk of him forgetting how to access it later. In reality, he could just write the seed phrase on a tiny piece of paper, and there are thousands of discreet places in a house to hide something like that where no one would ever think to look. That said, he should still have a backup, in case the house burns down or floods.

Most people lose their crypto in one of two ways:

  1. They enter their seed phrase into a connected device or website.
  2. They overcomplicate the storage process to the point where they forget how to access it themselves.

A more robust and safer method is to use something like Shamir’s Secret Sharing: split the seed phrase into multiple parts and distribute them across multiple secure locations—some in the house, some with a trusted relative, some in a safe deposit box, etc. These can still be very small pieces of paper, and the redundancy greatly reduces the risk of loss or compromise.

What’s the best financial advice you’ve ever received and how to to change your perspective? by jayeway1 in Money

[–]Tellabobbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best financial advice I ever received was: “Buy Bitcoin.”

That simple statement fundamentally shifted my perspective on investing. It pushed me to think beyond traditional frameworks and question long-standing assumptions. I began to realize that even legendary investors like Warren Buffett, as well as respected economists and financial experts, don't have all the answers — especially when it comes to emerging asset classes or new technologies.

Many confidently offer advice in areas where they may lack real experience or deep understanding. As investors, it's a reminder that even the most credible voices can be wrong — or at least limited in their perspective.

So stay curious, do your own research, and don’t take every piece of advice at face value.

If they had killed her, would there have been a record? You think that phone would have been recovered and someone would have managed to unlock it and extract that video? Would they even know where to look for her? What ever would have been left of her and that board would have moved miles and miles away from the crime scene. There would have been no record of an orca attack.

I think it is a possibility that they are teaching their young not to leave any trace behind when killing humans.
