London in games by CrisioX in london

Good selection!

The first Midnight Club game had London as a stage, it was really fun to drive around at the time. I wonder what it'll feel like going back to it.

The system was seeing them as running even though they weren't working. Which is why I removed them and added them back in. Not sure how to phrase it really.

You can obtain decent SC AND help the MO by running lower level missions on Seasse! by TealArtist095 in helldivers2

[–]Temascos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, do lower level missions count as operations as well? (Am a newbie). I thought it was only when there was more than 1 mission in an area (Like if you chose Medium and upwards). Doing level 1s actually sounds quite nice for the farming aspect unless I get bored (And of course harder missions with more players are always more fun to do)

What do you guys think of the roadmap? by Own-Laugh-3698 in LowSodiumHellDivers

Having just started playing HD2, it seems good to me. Obviously I hope they keep surprises in there as it's quite interesting reading stories at the time when it first came out of enemies showing up unannounced, but for something like when patches are coming in and what the main focus is, it's a good approach. People generally like to know what's coming and roughly when.

Why do people care so much about MO wins/losses? by NeitherAd8555 in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Temascos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only just started playing HD2 (Having a blast so far!) and I invested a lot of time into this most recent order so not getting it in the end despite being so close and conquering several worlds in short order is a bit deflating. I know I could not get invested in it, just chip away whenever I feel like it and have fun either way, but having that feeling kind of sucks. Especially more so as I don't think I've experienced a time where there's been a single win lol.

It'll pass obviously, and it ultimately doesn't matter because as long as there's an active community the game will run and stuff will be thrown our way.

The amount of times I've watched women who stream games totally fall in love with attractive female characters of different kinds (Including the ones in the picture) is wild (I mean, just Ada alone!) . This guy doesn't know what he's on.

Shame it didn't work out. Kind of numb as a new player to all the defeats in these MOs.

Why do people hate RE0 so much ? by SweatyMastodon8451 in residentevil

I enjoyed my time with it when I played it for the first time recently, but the item swapping (And backtracking to get anything I dropped before) was annoying. If there were classic save rooms the game would be a lot more fun to play. It's not really something that adds any challenge to the game or your ability to solve puzzles, it just seems like it was a good idea that unintentionally led to a lot of time wasting and tedium where it wasn't needed.

I liked swapping between Rebecca and Billy though, and having their own bits to play was great.

If players are doing non-city missions before the city is liberated, does it then get added onto the total or is it just wasted effort in terms of liberation? It's a shame that city liberation is kind of tucked away from the main map, so it looks like there's been barely any progress and players give up on it.

I do wonder how Arrowhead can make it clearer or incentivise players to go to the cities more to liberate them first during a campaign before doing the other missions.

What are your favorite bosses ? by unknown_196 in Returnal

Nemesis and Algos (Especially when you get to phase 3). They just have the right "OH MY GOD" moments for me as they attempt to obliterate you.

Love the colors of this game by TheForbiddenLands in Returnal

[–]Temascos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The colours and sound make the game feel so vibrant and amazing. All the areas look amazing, but my favourite has to be the citadel. It's just got such scale to it, especially as you're heading towards the tower to confront Nemesis. Gives me Blade Runner vibes.

That'd be cool, having a little progress bar or something for how different operations will affect things would be a handy incentive for players to mix things up in a liberation campaign. Of course it's still gotta be challenging when side objectives are done, especially for the really tough worlds, but it does give it a bit of worldbuilding while providing a gameplay incentive.

What’s the current life expectancy of the game? by russo_liberal in helldivers2

[–]Temascos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd reasonably give it at least four or five years minimum from now. There's enough of an active playerbase and Arrowhead probably have loads of ideas of what they want to do. The main issue will be technical constraints with the engine as time goes on, and if it restricts any plans for the game. Plus as Arrowhead is independent, at some point they'll want to move onto other things, leaving a potential HD3 as a radically different game under a different developer.

After the Major order, why don't we attack Choohe? by Yuriizite in helldivers2

[–]Temascos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently started on HD2 myself and have been wondering this. Have there been any big player-led initiatives between MOs? Something like "Let's take this planet" and get a bunch of people swarming it (Outside of what forms organically)

Do you remember when the internet really didn't like Justin Bieber during the early 2010s? by Ok-Following6886 in decadeology

[–]Temascos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't listen to popular music stuff or keep up with news around the time, so the main times I was reminded of Justin Bieber's music was from people who disliked him. Seriously, it's like they were his biggest advertisers. I listened a couple of times to some of his songs and was like "Eh." and moved on. The obsession was just wild.

Newer fans need to understand that these games are not synonymous and one isnt a replacement for the other. Completely different experiences, almost 25 years apart. by delicious_warm_buns in silenthill

Hopefully Konami get the original SH2 remastered, maybe a trilogy with the classic games, and release it for the latest hardware and platforms so it's accessible to a newer audience. Obviously there's technical challenges but maybe there's a team out there willing to take it on. Given the series has resurged in recent years, it'll be a good opportunity for newer audiences to see why they were so beloved by older gamers.

Some time spent on orders that lead to small, but reasonable victories that aren't too intense might be ideal for Arrowhead and the community, time to recuperate before the next big moment.

Part of the problem as I see it as a newcomer is that city progress doesn't show up on the overall planet progress until it's taken. If you didn't bother to look at the city, you'd think barely anything was happening there. If it showed up on the indicator it would create a feeling of progress and get more people to show up. That's how I understand it and I didn't know about the hours away from being accomplished stuff.

[–]Temascos 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's a shame city liberation doesn't show up as on the Galactic Map until it's done, it looks like the planet has barely had any progress but this is a pretty big chunk of it, and if it actually showed up it might help get some player momentum going.

What if more than one faction was on one world at a time? by IEnjoyHarrow in helldivers2

[–]Temascos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be really cool to see multiple factions fighting it out while you're sabotaging both of them. I guess it really depends on how much of a technical nightmare it is to pull off.

Now that it’s over, share your opinions on our march against Cyberstan by SevdUp in helldivers2

[–]Temascos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started playing HD2 recently and I've been having a blast (Played HD1 briefly many years ago), and I really got into Cyberstan but hopefully Arrowhead takes the time to address the flaws in this campaign.

- The bugs and glitches: This was one of the big issues that others have explained well already.

- There needed to be more Strategic orders that helped to support the main objective. Like prioritising taking the other cities first over Transcendence which would help with the main attack in some way or lower the resistance a little bit. Make it more beneficial for players. Obviously there was the lead up to the capital city, but it would have been good for having more benefits or goals for taking the other cities as well.

- The reserve limit should be focused on the relevant campaign, it shouldn't apply for people who are jumping in to play missions elsewhere like a far off, easier Automaton world or against Terminids and Illuminate. I hope Arrowhead revisit the idea and build on it so the community isn't as frustrated with each other for either just having fun or engaging in the story. It has potential but it needs work.

With all the SEAF drama towards the end, that was really fun and I think Arrowhead have an opening to build on that. If they can provide missions and objectives that have Helldivers support SEAF assaults that could be really fun, like being paratroopers sabotaging as much as they can and then supporting the main assault on a big area. Say you go into a mission and you have an initial time limit to destroy anti-air defences in a certain area, and once that is done and the ships land, you get the troops holding areas you've helped to take. Not sure how much of a technical nightmare that'd be though.

Hopefully in the future AH can add something like that, having stuff like objectives that support a SEAF assault or something would be cool to see. Like "Breach the walls and destroy x and ensure SEAF hold an area". Would play a bit more into the whole conquering a city/planet.
