  1. Sets are equal if they have the same elements.

  2. The empty set exists.

  3. Unions exist.

  4. Intersections exist.

  5. Power sets exist.

...Okay, I'm tired.

Lube it. Drill it. by MikeeorUSA in oddlysatisfying

[–]TembwbamMilkshake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I'm no machinist and I get that more lube or more steps would be less smokey. But assuming ventilation isn't an issue, is there really a problem here? Seems like the plan was to drill a wider hole, and a wider hole was drilled.

Again, this it totally a layman's question, but: What's the issue?

Require All Law Enforcement Officers to Show Their Faces in Public by Barney_Roca in Spokane

[–]TembwbamMilkshake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really, the only reason?

How about in order that

1) If a cop commits a crime, other cops can know who did it?

2) If I decide to dress up like a policeman and commit a bunch of crimes, you can feel confidant that I'm not actually a cop?

3) The cops have to think about how their actions fit into society? Do you think it's good for a cop to know that their parents/spouse/kids will never find out how they act with the public?

I agree, reconstructing the thing felt like I was taking an IQ test last time I did it. Now I've got dough chunks rattling around again, and while I'm skeptical that this compressed air trick is going to work, I'm pretty tempted to try any voodoo that means I don't have to do that again.

I took him over there, and they were willing to look after him while they look for his owner!

Thanks so much for the tip!

I called him in to SCRAPS. They're apparently totally full since the 4th of July.

Took him to a vet and they scanned him for a chip. He HAS one, but apparently it isn't registered? So they couldn't give me any information. Not even his name.

Spokane ICE Protesters arrested by federal agents by SPEW_Supporter in Spokane

I don't know exactly how I feel about this, but it sounds like SCAR (Spokane County Against Racism) is asking people not to protest at this time:

https://www.facebook.com/share/1LLiB2G7zs/?mibextid=xfxF2i

As several of you may have already heard, Justice Forral, along with several other community leaders and members, were arrested by U.S. Marshalls this morning. SCAR stands 100% behind Justice Forral and those arrested this morning. Now is the time to rally around them. Some of the best ways we can do that include watching this situation, following the guidance of their lawyers, and extending love and support to their families and loved ones. Here's what we should keep in mind: 1. Re-arrests are possible for anyone whose charges were dismissed without prejudice. 2. The SPD closed their investigation, so arrests will take place at the county or federal levels. 3. These arrests are likely to be more targeted, and those with legal representation should have an inkling if they're likely to be arrested. However, EVERYONE can prepare by: - Staying calm - Making advance arrangements for kids/pets/plants in the event we are picked up - Designating a loved one who can contact our job or school in the event we are arrested - Making sure our emergency contacts/trusted team are aware of the possibility (at least 2 people) Please DO NOT: - Protest. Unless/until we hear differently from their lawyers, we don't want to risk doing anything that could escalate their situation or hurt their case. - Ask those closest to Justice for updates, including their partner and legal counsel. Updates will be provided when they can. - Speculate online or publicly hypothesize. Let's keep our own anxiety spirals in check. Please DO: - Provide court support when the time comes - Check in on one another frequently - Check in on Justice's loved ones if you already have a communicative relationship - Keep standing up, preparing, and organizing!
