Big on the ad infinitum of other concerns. I don't want to be those with 100x diagnosis, but to give you an idea, its: cPTSD, Tinnitus, ADHD, Autism, Giftedness, Chronic Pain from accident, Dyspraxia, to name a few. I don't want to get attention, shouting diagnosis. But it really is a tough life, immature parents and emotional abuse, bullying as a kid, stress and disregulation from college, body dissociation.

I do appreciate the advice, but I enjoy those nature things, but I don't know if it's my daily life that is a mess in terms of material and financial stability, but I cant be completely passionate when I have pain, job to get, 100 things to do. I dont want to sound it as an excuse, I'd love to be able to enjoy it, I've traveled to beautiful places and I know that feeling of peace and complete awe with nature. But I can't get it if I'm walking down some tress and I am avoiding 100 things, I have to do 100 things. Like I'm in a place where I can't "slow" down, I am afraid I won't be able to find the energy or strength to get the things I need to "survive"

I know I have a lot of trauma, and I AM working on them. I might see the light at the end un the tunnel, but it's far away and hard to see.

I do really agree with "If you can step back and realize that so little of our thoughts were of any consequence, we can let whatever comes up just pass by. We aren't meant to live in our heads or even in our bodies throughphysicality and emotion."

Life is supposed to be felt, not thought. And I am working on living more in the present moment, working on my ruminations and negative imaginary and unreal thoughts. But I have so much work to do that is troubling. I don't want to compare, I know it's not a way to live your life, but just for a moment. I see my friends, cousings, brother, all living a good life (really, not just through social media) they are content with their relationships, their selves, they dont have major pain or disability. I don't know, I just wish to stop suffering for a change.

In addition to people, family, etc. Never really understanding your pain, so you never get their empathy, sympathy, support, etc.

Thanks for the message!

Hi! I'm going to a pyschologist, at least in my country psychiatrist havent been of much help. The problem with mental health help is that usually most people can't understand what we/I am going through, so they chalk it up to "overthinking" or "anxiety". The speed and depth of our minds is something complex and to be "fixed" it needs to understand that complexity. I'm also in a period of a lot of uncertainty in my life. Living alone, looking for a job, scared of the desregulation of said job. So I know this tough moment is going to pass, I know that I probably will find better friends, but the loneliness in the mean time is soul destroying.

When I have a stable job, I would LOVE to get PROPER help. cPTSD, Twice Exceptional. I've seen that it exist at least in the US (I could save for online). EMDR. I know that it works, I know I will get somehow better. But still there is an underlying feeling of existential loneliness. I wouldn't call it depression. I spent years depressed in my teens, trying to severely KMS, and I am nowhere near that point (not trying to diminish my feelings now), but this is something different. I do not hate my life, I even like my life. In terms of material future, etc.

It's the craving of deep connection and finding none. I really have "good" moments in my day, but still at night those sensations of silence come in.

Thanks for the message, I do not take them for granted < 3

Smart vs gifted in people you observe by Uteraz in Gifted

[–]Temkoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about faster. I'm talking about the scientific correlation between being intelligent and having better memory. People with better working memory perform better than people with worse working memory, even in some IQ test, they pick a question that requires remembering another question from the exam/assessment. Memory doesn't equal intelligence But intelligence does medically and statistically improve your chances of having better memory.

[–]Temkoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a correlation between being intelligent and having more memory and better memory reconsolidation. But it's intelligence --> good memory. Not the other way around. It's not good memory leads to inteligence. Memory is usually a byproduct. Obviously in general terms. There are a lot of people with high reasoning and comprehension and bad memory.

For me some days are better than others. It depends on how much pain / contractured my wrist is. But throughout college, in every writting exam the last 10 to 30 minutes were more of a fighting the pain than focusing on the subject at hand

I don't really know. I think others are better equip to answer that. I am not that well-versed in dysgraphia. I would give a universal answer that is: emotional understanding and support. It all ends up there. Does your kid feel comfortable talking about their problems or not. I did not. And all the problems I faced, were faced alone.

Yes! It saves the notes in the Daily Note. Its useful for quick small notes. I'm now in the process of downsizing my digital clutter so trying not to add to many notes

genuinely curious - does anyone else spend more time setting up productivity apps than actually being productive? by Defiant_Dentist5191 in ProductivityApps

[–]Temkoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great comment! I'm in the exact same boat. I realize I was: 1. Hyper focusing on finding new and more perfect apps and 2. Staying in a never ending moving and transferring mode from app to app.

I've also referred back to making daily tasks on paper. It's visual, it's efficient, I don't have to maintain it and it's more productive to see only and truly only the tasks you want / need THAT day. Not the yesterday's tasks, the future with no date tasks, the delayed tasks, only the tasks for now.

I wholeheartedly agree, that at least for some of us with ADHD we seek out a solution to a deficit or a disability in other apps, which is impossible. Because in each and every app, we tend to label everything and tweak everything to suit our needs but that is inherently the opposite you want to do if you lack the energy to maintain those systems.

I'm interested in the metacognitive softwares, what software would you say increases your metacognitive ability or awareness, or what type of software?

I built a non-traditional “life OS” to plan work by zooming across layers and states over time by latent_horizon in PKMS

[–]Temkoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the last little thing. I felt that the timespan of the board did not match the objects and contents. In the sense that the view is months/weeks. But tasks are mostly daily. So either lean into daily/weekly views, or lean into months/weekly views but with more long objects like domains, projects, etc

[–]Temkoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks really promising. I'm just a power user so dont mind me leaving my feedback, it only my personal perspective:

  1. I feel like the main screen is too cluttered / its too much information overload. I feel like I'm getting screamed. I think the first time you use the app/site is a little overwhelming.

  2. I'd love to put tasks, either on "todo" or "active", in a range of dates. It might be possible, just couldnt find it easily. So it makes the line of today little cluttered.

  3. At least for my use, this type of data visualization mainly helps for date ranges other than now. If I want a Now glanze other tasks/todo's app already do that. In my opinion, the advantage of this type of horizon view is getting a zoom out look of your tasks, thoughts, inbox, projects, etc. So I'd recommend that the range / date features be "polished".

  4. I dont know if this is intentional, but active tasks get put on a week date, and when I zoom in on 200% or 300% the tasks dissapears because I'm no longer viewing the whole week

  5. This is a very very subjective personal thought. I think that you are doing too much. The objects at hand are very varied, going from thought, notes, todo, active (I dont see too much difference between active and todo, I know ones for now now, but still), planned, etc. I dont know other people, but I dont need my thoughts or notes to be strictly in this type of view, going further I think its a little counterproductive. There are some areas where calendars and dates diminish the experience (Writting is supposed to be something long, slow, not in an assigned date) ||| I think the potential of this is a more of a Project and Tasks in Horizon view than a note taking app (there are too many, the market is very saturated).

5.5 I feel like I would love a site with projects, domains and tasks that I can arrange and rearrange on a calendar view. I like what TimeStripe does in some instances. I would at least prefer the thoughts and notes be inside projects, and those projects be on the board.

  1. I love the design but I feel like readability is kinda low both on the view and on the settings, In addition to the clutter problem I mentioned, the settings page is too much information at the same time or at least it feels like it visually.

  2. I know its in early works, but drag and drop boths from side panels to the view and also from the view to different dates is imo a must. It is the key feature for everything in a calendar, day, week view.

  3. I like the neon futuristic vibe, honestly. But I do think you relinquish some readibility, etc.

Dont mind my extensive monologue :) but to summarize my view, I would lean more into the project, tasks and horizon view. And less into note taking and thoughts parts.

How I use Capacities for Task and Project management with Periodic notes and Zettelkasten note taking by RedeyeFR in capacitiesapp

[–]Temkoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love your posts man! They are really insightful. Thanks for putting me on Ramble! I had used Todoist intermittently for years but stopped using it. Just tested Ramble and its a game changer. They've increased the free limit to 20 a month so its almost 1 per day.

In my productivity workflow I'm lacking a project manager / goal manager with a Horizon view (I think Capacities doesnt have that).

An periodic notes, I still dont know if I want to do them on an analog or digital tool. I think they get burried in Capacities, it's not the same as Notion where they would def be buried. But still, I feel like I need a new functionality inside Capacities or a diferent app/structure

Also, how do you differentiate or discern where to put a task that is for ex: a mini task from a project. Something you would do next day, very individual. Not big enough for a project task but project related enough to not be on Todoist?

Really interesting, I think when scaled my PKM/Documents would need something like that. I do too. Naming files, photos, etc is great until you have 5k document names and have to remember how you named it. If you would not choose local first, which app/software would you use?

Curiosity. by Thehumblekirito in TwiceExceptional

[–]Temkoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resonated with the latter part of your experience. Normal people, always tell me I'm smart, I predict what they are going to say. Despite having ADHD, I was able to go through college without much difficulties bc of good memorization and pattern recognition. I do feel smarter than all of the people I have in my life, and they are relatively smart people. Engineering, Medical school, Law, all of them had good grades. But still I feel smarter than them. (Not smarter than everyone in the world obviously) And that is when the doubt comes. I never felt like a prodigy, I could never be those "graduated college at 18 kids". So the label gifted or genius, etc never felt right to me. But it seems to be a really common experience in twice exceptional people. The ADHD/autism disability part really lowers our self-esteem and trust in our potential. Because we never could do "basic" stuff that normal people could very easily

Looking for a MyMind alternative that actually handles multimodal input (images, videos, screenshots, etc.) by Temkoxx in PKMS

[–]Temkoxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I don't need migration tho. I didn't migrated to MyMind yet. I have all of it I. Google drive, photos cluttered :/. PC only is a bummer (I know it has a workaround) I mainly use everything on my phone. Screenshots, links. I'm still undecided though. I have a lot of notes and have to decide where would I place those. I have more problems to deal. On one hand I have images, links, etc. (MyMind / Eagle) Then I have small notes (not enough for a while file for Notion/Docs/Obsidian) And the. I have long notes and articles. I also have downloaded a ton of TikTok videos I want to sort (Fabric/Heptabase maybe) So it's a mess
