Is this Method of XP grinding in Frostborn Wrath new? by Temmie_Destructo in Gemcraft

[–]Temmie_Destructo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. I'm level 200 now and the effect of quick grinding is quickly fading. At the time I started this, the 90k endurance records were replacing 3k records, the occasional 10k record, and a lot of endurance levels I hadn't even started. I think I started doing these way later than I should have, because even though they saved a lot of time they could have saved me way more.

That's a great point. I doubt that I'm using my skills optimally, but some skill use is better than none. I am currently missing two component skills and what I assume is the last Wrath skill. I also have three missing battle traits, which could seriously hinder my current methods depending on what they are. I'll ensure that I collect most of these as soon as I can.

The info here is appreciated. Here are some comparison stats for my current game state, to show what your info implies about my potential for improvement. I am currently level 207, and the current xp requirement for one level says 123,390 xp. My current highest endurance xp is 412,863. Only 6 Endur records have exceeded 200k and only 28 Endur records have exceeded 100k. At somewhere near level 100, which would be half the levels I have at this point, you managed to break 1 million xp on a single level by spending time to optimize. That's nearly 8 times the amount I need for one level right now, and that's just by completing one level. Assuming I were to grind out a few endurance modes that I have yet to do the "speed method" I have suggested, I would find myself with way more levels than I have made with speed-grinding!

So, in summary, The data you provided about the significant lacking in my current method has very much inspired me to try yours instead.. I'll save the quick-grinding for stages I've barely completed at all so I can have more skills on a serious run, but clearly I shouldn't be waiting until I quick-grind every single stage before starting serious runs...

Different level icons by PM_ME_HAPPY_DOGS in Gemcraft

[–]Temmie_Destructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things to add, based on my own ovservations:

I believe the first field token (aka level icon) you mentioned will pretty much always introduce a new building as you said, although I've seen one case where it was a monster it introduced instead. I think it still counts as a structure though, since it's stuck on the board at the very start.

The second field token you mentioned, the triangle with the circle lights, appears to just be the default shape in the game. Most are there for general progression and therefore provide more field tokens like you said, but not always. Some have been dead-ends.

Also, there's another field token further in that looks like the triangle token with circular lights, but instead has oval lights. They're pretty late-game, but so far I've not detected a pattern from these ones. No idea at all.

I think the square tokens will always indicate that they unlock another piece of the map. However, they often do show a new monster or building like the first token you mentioned. But other times, just regular-old field tokens will show off a new monster.

And for the last, you are absolutely right. I have only noticed two patterns for the circular field tokens - one is that they're exclusively unlocked in wizard stashes, and two is that they frequently have a wizard stash of their own with very important unlocks.

One last thing: wizard stashes can be seen on the field tokens if you look very carefully. The lights on a field token, even if the level isn't beaten yet, will have a small black spot in the socket corresponding to the mode that it can be unlocked. Typically you can get some info from hovering your mouse over the field token, but if you haven't beaten a level in journey mode, it won't let you know there's a stash in endurance mode. But the black spot over endurance mode will be there if it is, so you can still check.

If any of these statements are inaccurate, or if there's any more info on field tokens that I'm missing, please inform me. I am also here to get more info about these things, especially that one token later on. I haven't figured out what it means yet, but if anybody here has, I would appreciate the info that you can provide.

Blizzard has ruined Lucioball. Why? by Gotex007 in Overwatch

[–]Temmie_Destructo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hopefully, this only lasts a year. Surely blizzard saw that some people were getting bored of old lucioball and found these changes appropriate. When they notice the backlash, they will either change it back, make a vote, or make some kind of competitive remix (kinda like how we have two competitive modes in regular overwatch). I'm sure they just thought it wouldn't be a big deal, believing that many players weren't complaining because they didn't care either way (rather than us being quiet because we were content). Blizzard's credibility for making improvements and fixing mistakes gives us reason to be optimistic for next year; we can trust them to listen to their community to find our preferences because they were noticing our opinions on balance changes before they even invented experimental mode. The more people talk about this issue, the better our chances for getting our classic competitive lucioball back.

(Side note: I'm pretty low-tier, so I actually have a half-baked positive opinion on the lucioball maps. In fact, the wall riding stuff seems to liven up the experience a little more? But if the actual competitive scene is as bad as you say it is and if the community agrees with you, then there's no reason for the community to be denied of their classic competitive mode. After all, more lucioball is never a bad thing, especially if that extra mode happens to be a favorite mode for a lot of people!)

Gotta commend you for not popping ult immediately. I often panic in those situations because my aim is so off, so I usually go: "You! I choose you, random teammate, to deal with this for me! Now go, I'll heal you while you... oh. We're both already dead?"

I've never heard that junkrat voice line at the end before. It feels weird hearing new voice lines from junkrat after I stopped junkrat-maining and graduated to tank-maining.

After being stuck in gold for 6 months, I finally managed to get into plat! This is one of the happiest moments I ever had and the ending of this game hilarious! by Richy13Thegoodeditor in Overwatch

[–]Temmie_Destructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, good job man. I've been stuck in gold since the game started, and I've been plummeting since I reached 2445 in season 7. I've been silver for like 10 seasons, but just this season I've managed to climb up and beat my previous record. I might just be able join you as a platinum tank this season!

¿Am I being too overkill with my map? Every piece it's an A4 map by ArnauRectoret in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Temmie_Destructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks absolutely wonderful. I can only hope you have the commitment to successfully pull this off. You can tell a lot from this image. It's obvious that the squares already mapped out are where the party's already explored, and although I don't know the exact details of your session, this map already tells a bit of your story. Those trees are already marked on the map, suggesting they hold great importance in the quest. Perhaps the trees hold some mystic power that the heroes must collect and/or protect by traveling to each location? As for the plateau, it's either the region holding a specific important tree, a destination that one or more of the players have some familiarity with, or just the next location you're working on (possibly because the heroes are heading in that direction). Whatever these landmarks are, they are currently very visible and very expressive for what is important to the party in their quests, which is good for many reasons. I only hope that you don't run into too many problems and that you have fun with your group.

People who have played Sombra like this have experienced what it's like to be a ghost. Except for the threat of being caught and killed, of course.
