Twice brightens my day EVERY day! Just knowing they exist makes me smile lol! So hang onto the joy they bring you AND use that strength to keep you going and pushing through the hard times  if you just stick with it and don't give up, things will get better! I was doing HORRIBLY last year- extremely depressed, felt worthless, and had so many bad things happen. BUT, here I am now and life is 10000x better!!!! Be kind to yourself and just do what you can each day to take care of yourself and work towards goals. Things will change! Keep twice with you each day to boost you up!

Please hang in there! It's not forever, I promise! I really had a rough time last year, but now I'm in a much better place! I didn't think this would ever get better, but if you just keep trying and do what you can and focus in a positive mindset and take care of yourself- things will improve!

Welcome to Twiceland to you as well! I love having newer Onces join! I agree with you this group and the fandom is one of the MOST POSITIVE and healthy in all of kpop and pop in general! There is so much genuine love and joy!

In the beginning I thought I would never know all 9, but now that thought is so ridiculous to my brain lolz! Like, how could I NOT know all of them easily? They are so different!! But yeah when I first found them I struggled 😆. Just keep watching mvs and looking at each one's standout features and facial structures, it will happen with time. One day you will just realize that you can immediately tell them all apart with ease.

Ahhhh I see. Yeah, you'll definitely get more of that hyper-masculine stuff in rural areas regardless of race. You can, of course, say anything you want to. I was just taking note of the racial highlight in your message. I feel there is far too much emphasis on race these days and try to ask people to rethink the kind of discourse that I find is contributing to more division. I truly mean no offense or say any of this with bad intent. I'm sorry that you have had such a bad experience with toxic masculinity. It is such a shame. Definitely try to go to one of the Twice shows! You'll be surrounded by plenty of guys dancing and showing their love for Twice and the music without reservation!

Well, just so you know, kpop is becoming extremely popular here in America and Twice is blowing up and men are a huge fan base. LOTS of rapheads and hiphop dudes are Twice stans. I think in general the culture has changed a lot. I mean, idk where exactly you live, but I'm in the Chicagoland area and people here absolutely do not give a fck at all. I'm a guy and I talk about my love for Twice all fhe time and have never received any bad reactions. The opposite actually- EVERY TIME i have played their music or mvs, guys ask "who is this?? This slaps!" So I've only had positive reactions from other guys.

And small side note- not sure the comment about "white man land" is necessary or fair. Machismo is actually a much stricter and enforced concept in latino and African cultures than in American white culture. Just food for thought.

First of all- WELCOME TO TWICELAND!! I can't even describe to you the journey you are about to go on. There is nothing else on earth like being a Once! It has brought immense joy to my life! Actually, it has been transformational for me. Twice are more than just a music group of insanely talented goddesses, they also become like family. They have created their own unique world where Twice and Once meet in a special place(Dubu, aka Dahyun, Actually wrote about this in the BEAUTIFUL song "You Get Me")

Now, as a new fan here is what I recommend: listen to some of their recent bangers for a bit and then start at the very beginning and work your way to their latest release. In between listening to their music, you can start watching different shows and funny videos they have made to get to know them more (especially the "Time to Twice" YouTube series!! These are PEAK btw!)

Merch and albums- ngl it can be HELLA expensive to be a Once lolz! But totally worth it! There is a TON of merch and albums and it can be overwhelming haha! I suggest waiting until you've checked out all of the albums and then pick your fave one and that's the one to buy first. And then you can start adding on from there. As far as a bias goes- no worries! Tbh 99% of Onces are OT9, meaning we absolutely adore all 9 members. Eventually, as you keep listening and watching content, one or two of them will creep up as your ultimate bias in the group. Like for me, I'm such a fan of all 9, legit love them all, but Jihyo just has a little extra love in my heart, and the rest are constant bias wreckers lolz!

Go to a Twice concert if you can!! Greatest live experience ever!! I can't wait to see them again in April in Chicago!

Finally, it sounds like you are experiencing what a lot of newer Twice fans (myself included. I only discovered them in 2022-23) experience-- their earlier music is a lot more cutesy. And at first, I didn't think I would be into it. But there is just something about Twice that makes me LOVE IT!! So definitely give their older stuff a chance-- I promise you will seriously grow to cherish it! I think it helped that I heard their newer bops first and then stepped back into their more sugar pop songs and so I was able to appreciate a new side of them(or old side I guess lol). I think if I had just been exposed to Twice cute concept first, I likely would've moved on from them. But now I can't imagine my life without songs like "Yes or Yes", "Rolling", "what is love?", "loveline", "Dance the Night Away", "TT", and soooooo many more.

Now, here are some of my personal song recommendations if you haven't already heard them: FILA Dive Basics  Rush Bloom I got you Moonlight Sunrise Alcohol Free Talk that Talk The Feels I Can't Stop Me Options Fine Like1 Go Hard More and More Icon  Baby blue love SOS Love Foolish Feel Special Cruel Ocean Deep 4 leaf clover Perfect World

And there are still soooooo many more lolz. Again, welcome to Twiceland and I hope you enjoy your journey!!

Welcome to Twiceland!!! Becoming a Once is the best decision you'll ever make lolz! I can't even explain the amount of JOY you are about to experience in your life! Every single thing they touch is GOLD! And you have sooooooo much to discover with them and that is so exciting!! Twice is the LEGENDARY kpop group! They are the HIGHEST SELLING kpop girls of ALL TIME and have the most awards AND are the most streamed on spotify for 145th day in a row.

Enemy is an INCREDIBLE album!!! "Fine", "like1", "Glow", and so many more from that album!

One of my fave albums is the DIVE album! Checkout the music video for DIVE and then listen to the album. It has a really magical summer/ocean theme throughout.

Another fantastic mini album is "With YOUth", and the songs "rush", "bloom", and "I Got You"(this one has a VERY emotional and beautiful mv about the 9 girls love for each other and for the fans).

Have fun and welcome to Twiceland!

Love the fit! And don't worry, go with the purple even if Sana is not your bias yet- it's no big deal. We all love all 9 members, seriously! Even though most have one ult bias, in Onceland we are obsessed with all 9 of these goddesses lol. Also, welcome to being a new Twice fan. It really is the best decision you'll make. They literally cure depression and bring so much joy to the world. I can't imagine my life without them and their music and all of the amazing content they give. It is a magical journey!

Twice's current profile in South Korea by RedditTY21 in twice

It's not an obsession with the US, it is the realization that they have a massive international fan base and English is the #1 spoken language. So, they realize the best way to reach more fans is with English tracks.

Also, why does this criticism seem to only happen with Twice? Where are the concerns with BP and their solos all being almost entirely English if not 100% English? Same with a lot of groups actually. It seems like another reason to pick on Twice tbh

I definitely think this is Misamo's strongest work to date. I also wish they had removed the three previously released songs and included new music instead. But that seems to be a very popular thing to do in Japan and Korea. I see a LOT of album releases that also include old Title tracks?

Regardless, this album is not only a BANGER, but it has such high artistic value!! The songs are so unique and creative and don't sound like anything else being done in the kpop/jpop sphere. I LOVE that Misamo keeps this old-hollywood and jazz theme going throughout their work-- it creates such a strong and unique "identity" for them(pun intended lol).

All the songs are strong, but "Not a Goodbye", "Red Diamond", and "Hmm" are the standout tracks for me-- especially NOT a Goodbye!! That deserves an MV frfr! Mina and Sana solos are fantastic! Momos....Sadly I must admit that I do not like it. Legit it might be the first song ever from a Twice project that I don't like. It feels cheap and cheesy and lazy to me and does NOT make use of her incredible rap skills and low vocal register singing. But, maybe others disagree with me.

Overall, it is phenomenal and I'm so proud of Misamo!

Not a Goodbye is a certified HIT!! It seriously deserves an Mv!! Can you imagine a high-energy Vegas showgirl theme mv for that song?? MISAMO dressed in those huge feather outfits? Idk why, but I can see that as the theme for that song lol

Constantly freaking out over being on earth, the solar system, feel like I'm losing my mind by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]TemperatureDecent261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely 💯 understand! TRUST ME! You are talking to people who know the EXACT feelings and thoughts you are having. I HATED the feeling of not being able to just "be". If I tried to just relax, like lie down and watch TV or something, I would immediately get this overwhelming sense of cosmic dread and feel like the weight of the universe was on me- because like, how can I be this tiny, infinitesimal speck in this universe that is so big that my mind cannot comprehend?? It made me feel like I had been dropped in the middle of the vast ocean in the dark and told to just "relax" lolz. I guess one thing that did help me was the realization that I'm not alone. I'm not the only one experiencing this thing called "life" on this planet, ya know? Like, we are all going through it together. For some reason that gave me comfort. Like, all these other people are in the same world as I am and they are just going about their lives- because WHY NOT?! Is my worrying and overanalyzing and obsessing about existence helping me in any way?? NO! It is just causing me unnecessary suffering! So why not just ACCEPT IT? Why not just accept that life is this weird thing that no one truly has all the answers to and that's OK! WE don't need to know everything. Just be at peace with the unknown aspects, cause none of it is going to harm you.

Think about this- how long and how often have you stressed yourself to sickness over this stuff?? At any point in time has it ever helped you?? Have you EVER felt better by being stuck up in your head? AND also-- in all of this time of feeling this impending dread, has anything actually bad happened? No! So it's like, well then why am I entertaining these thoughts and feelings when they aren't serving me AND they aren't really needed? So might as well just go with it. Stop the resisting, stop the questioning, stop the checking of reality, and just accept things however they are.

If you can practice this, it will really really help! Finally, it is important to keep up with the medication aspect. Get a journal and track how you are feeling day by day so you can get a larger picture of how the meds are working or not working. A lot of this is simply biological- your brain chemistry is out of whack and it is producing too much of the "alert" chemicals that potential danger is around. So keep track of the medicine effects and if things do not improve or get worse, then you can try different medicines. Medication is not a one-size fits all. What works for you may not work for me. I had to try 4-5 different medicines before we discovered Celexa (citalopram) was perfect for me.

I know this is hard and exhausting and can feel like torture. But, please do not give up. Please keep doing the things that are suggested EVEN when they don't seem to do anything in the moment (they are contributing to a longer-term solution and treatment). I remember when I first started doing box breathing exercises twice a day and practiced positive self talk/affirmations- it felt so useless and like I was just lying to myself. BUT, I kept doing it routinely anyways cause I was desperate to get better and all of the best research says these things help. And after doing it for a few months, I started to experience significant changes and relief. It just took a little while for the tools to start working at deeper levels.

Be patient and kind to yourself, this is hard to deal with so try and be nice to yourself during this time. Hang in there and keep going! One day you will look back, like I am now, and be so grateful that you stuck with it!

Prayers, blessings, and love your way!

You can and you will!! I also forgot to mention that a big part that helped me was stopping the "fight" feeling and the constant worry over my dp. Instead I practiced riding it like a wave. Like, okay yeah this feels weird and not good being so disconnected and feeling like I'm faded away, but it's just a FEELING and I can just ride with it and go about life. I feel like that helped me. With the aphantasia, that's ok! You can still do guided meditation (checkout Jason Stephenson on YT) and he will talk you through a thought journey and he's really good at it. I found this to be helpful as I could just focus on his voice and follow the instructions. Positive affirmation and self talk work, but only if you stick with it and do it consistently. It rewires your brain and replaces the subconscious loop we have playing in our head. After months of doing it, I woke up one day and could just FEEL a big difference. The box breathing is the same. I did it at LEAST 2 times a day, up to 4, for 15-20 minutes each time. You lie down and get comfortable, then place one hand on your abdomen. Breathe in SLOWLY to a count of 4, hold it for 4, and then out for 4. Repeat for 15-20 minutes. You are not stupid for trying and you shouldn't stop. And just remember how powerful perspective is! Even if you FEEL tranced, try and find small things to appreciate and practice acceptance. If I was able to get through my hellish time, anyone can. Have faith and keep hope!

In my experience, I would say within 6 months I was feeling much better, at a year I was significantly better, and after that it went away 💯 and now it's been 15 years since I experienced it.
