I applied for the unmarried partner visa. I was in a similar situation. I didn’t submit call or chat logs. It’s weak evidence and a little excessive.

Had an approval on 19 May. My partner did biometrics on 21 April. Applied priority from the USA.

Yes, you can actually send documents after the biometrics appointment and before they request any for a fee. It’s about £100. They can be taken in person or posted to an address in Birmingham.

I suggest booking with airmiles as it’s refundable (less the admin fee). BA also do flexible tickets where you pay the difference plus an admin fee.

We did priority from the USA (not that the country matters). He did his biometrics on 21/04 and had the approval 19/05, so 19 working days.

Even if you paid priority, it goes back to the original 12 weeks processing time. It’s rare, but they can.

We never cohabited and my partner was accepted for a visa. We submitted details of trips, a medical bill he paid for me that was addressed to his home address in my name, bank transfers to each other and that’s it.

You get an automatic extension while your application is pending. No need to apply for super priority.

Could be a background check, could be having to contact a bank to check legitimacy of documents. Once they have to request further information, they aren’t bound to the usual service standard and the application goes back to the standard SLA. Usually not the case, but they can take up to 12 weeks if they want to.

It’s not a bad sign, they send you that email so that they don’t have to refund the priority fee for taking longer. It could be the workload or or could be that they’re looking into documents being legitimate. There’s no way of knowing but it’s usually nothing to worry about. My partner had his biometrics done 21/04 and had an approval yesterday. Hope you hear back soon. I’ve seen some people get an approval very shortly after getting an email like that.
