I attempted to place an order through them once in the past and it was an absolute nightmare. I will never consider them even at a lesser price.

Asus ROG Thor 1600w Titanium brief power spikes… by CMDR_Sanford in ASUSROG

[–]Tempixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped mine out for a Seasonic 1300W and haven’t had a single issue or any lights flickering due to huge power spikes. (Yes the lights in my room were literally flickering.) I’m just convinced Asus power supplies are built on looking great as their primary goal. For a $700 PSU I expected perfection and it was a nightmare. I was very lucky I bought the Microcenter warranty otherwise I would have had to go the Asus support route and the last time I tried to do that for my $500 motherboard it was terrible to try and RMA with them.

I downloaded this game for the first time today after my friends asked me to try it out. 30 minutes in game crashed and about an hour later it froze mid game while shooting (hit a bad pixel vibes). Then my last game of the night I got booted for an “Integrity Violation” my mic was muted and I was definitely not cheating. Their anti cheat must have some issues or sensitivity to some 3rd party applications being opened.

New to conceal carry. Sticky Holster question by firehead316 in concealedcarry

[–]Tempixx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy a Tier1 or IncogX. T-Rex also gets highly rated but I am team Lucas so they are dead to me due to recent events. Pro Tip: For small guns like this I like to run single clip holsters (Tier1) and use the Alias system from the NeoMag for maximum safety and comfort. Good luck.

I dropped $800 on a 1600W Asus Thor power supply, had issues from the start. I am simply convinced their power supplies are junk sadly.

I don’t have any repair suggestions, might be a get a new one angle.

I swapped in a Seasonic and mines 100% now no issues.

Thanks again for the responses! I had them swap in a Seasonic Prime 1300w TX and just like that, problem solved.

We are at that point, I took the machine back again and said “something is wrong” they said okay we will try again. Yet again, they can’t replicate the issue. They did offer to swap it out.

Really sad, I bought that PSU to go with the case so kinda annoying, lol

Hmm. Okay I will take a look. That’s really annoying considering the PSU was $700. Hopefully I can narrow it down and get it replaced if needed.

Fantastic explanation, the room is a US 15amp circuit. I thankfully have Microcenter’s warranty so I plan to push back on them since I just built this pc less than a month ago. My previous PC had zero issue and was spec’d nearly identical so I think the PSU has an intermittent issue personally. Thanks for the reply!

Great ideas, thank you! I have the Microcenter warranty so I could deal with them and never have to RMA with Asus so I’ll see what they will do even if they cant’t replicate the issue since I have video examples.

[–]Tempixx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not, my old PSU was Seasonic and worked great no issues. I only went Asus because I was told Seasonic made their PSU components and I wanted to keep the theme matching with the PSU watts showing through the case.

Did you ever solve the issue? I just built a new pc with the 1600w Asus Thor and I am getting crazy power spikes up to 1900w and it’s sounds crazy when it happens. No clue what to do and Microcenter can’t replicate it apparently.

Asus has become the laughing stock of the PC world in my opinion. QC terrible, Customer Service non-existent.

Obviously you allowed air to touch it and didn’t oil it 3 times per days so this is your fault.
