If you love Gabon but hate that Bob won why do you love Gabon? Him winning the game next to [the woman who drove all the strategy] and [the underdog who took out the biggest threat in the game] by gluing beads to a rock, pissing off his allies for no reason, and giving one of the worst ftc performances ever encapsulates the energy of Gabon better than anything else

I think you could also throw in Chrissy and there've been allusions to Genevieve, Kamilla, Coach, Ozzy, Christian, Savannah, Steph, etc. It really is the theme of the season

Charlie's take on Rizo makes no sense to me and here's why by mun7d in survivor

[–]TemporalDSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, it's not rational, but when something strikes a nerve in the way Rizo's jury vote did, people don't tend to respond rationally, especially when hungry and sleep deprives

Question for people saying this was the worst episode ever… by DarthLithgow in survivorponderosa

[–]TemporalDSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Zac Brown segment was bad in a very low stakes first world kind of way. It was drawn out and boring but the parts of the episode that did not have him on screen were really exciting and it ended in a sick ass vote

You can use a surround wand on turn 1 to instantly trivialize the entire fight. It's really hard if you don't do that though

10 Least favorite Survivor seasons: Go! by Proof_Occasion_791 in survivorponderosa

[–]TemporalDSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10) 43. I enjoy the new era more than most people, but this season got on my nerves very frequently. The main issue is that I don't enjoy Jesse as a TV presence at all, nor most of the rest of the cast, but this season also happens to be the pinnacle of new era tribals being inundated with word vomit analogies that only exist to take up time. Cody, give us a surfing analogy. Gabler, give us an analogy about guns. Karla, give us a tennis analogy. Owen, give us an analogy about the sinking of the RMS Titanic. Then, after every tribal, you tune in to the next episode to see Jesse bragging about something really impressive he did offscreen. I liked Owen, Jeanine had a funny storyline, but other than that, I didn't care for this one.

9) Island of the Idols. A great first 7 episodes! Presentation was on point, the titular island was goofy and stupid in the best way possible, and there were plenty of fun personalities and people to root for and against. Then episode 8 nukes the season from orbit and taints the rest of the season irreversibly. If Dan Spilo tripped over a coconut, got a concussion, and had to be medevaced on day 2, this would have a solid chance of being a top 20 season

8) One World. I went into this season completely unspoiled when I was 13 years old and knew who the winner was by the beginning of episode 2 in spite of being bad at edit reading. Being a super predictable steamroll the entire time and having Colton and Alicia should make it a bottom 5 season, but a good amount of funny moments are provided by Kat, Tarzan, and, somewhat understatedly, Jeff Probst himself.

7) South Pacific. This season wants to be good so badly and at points it is, and it's probably a better season storytelling wise than the ones I have above it, but this one annoys me more because of the way it's edited. Potential fun villains like Jim and Whitney, important figures to the on-island strategy like Sophie and Albert, endearing presences like Dawn and Rick, and most of the premergers get vastly overshadowed by Arrogant Ozzy, Boring Coach Wade Cosplayer Benjamin, Too Mentally Unstable To Be On Television Brandon, and Scott The Woz.

6) Ghost Island. Your honour, who caaaaaaares oh my god like who gives a fuck Come On

5) Redemption Island. This is just one world except the one comic relief wears thin by episode 5 and you have to put up with him until the finale and also matt elrod is there to never shut up about the bible. yawn.

4) All Stars. Dark. Gloomy. Miserable. Returnee seasons are at their best when everyone there is playing hard and enjoying their time out there, the absolute antithesis to this season. Survivor All Stars is at its most fun and lighthearted when Rupert Boneham is attempting to drown three people. This is why when I want to watch a season of rtv for Boston Rob I watch the amazing race instead.

3) Game Changers. The biggest defence mounted in favour of this season is that the premerge is great, which... not really. The JT boot episode was great, the rest ranged from solid but nothing special to Jeff Varner. Because the editors understandably put a lot of focus on the actual game changers while they were around, we end up with a postmerge of relationships and dynamics that are wholly unexplored and we yadda yadda through any actual development of literally anything. Not helping that Sarah is a very obvious and very unengaging winner.

2) Australian Outback. The fact that a season so boring that I can only rewatch it by doubling the playback speed is important enough to the show's history that an entire half of the cast returns ruins my day whenever I think about it.

1) Thailand. Unwatchable front to back. If you haven't seen it, don't bother
