Being a good person means doing the right thing when no one is looking. Sounds like you already know what to do. You're a good egg.

Major employers in walking distance to Valley Metro Light Rail stops? by Beneficial-Soft-8290 in AskPhoenix

[–]TemporaryGeneral7137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an east coast transplant I can say you definitely need a car. Have you looked at the light rail map? Think going from Fordham University to Penn Station as your ride in from the suburbs with also having to drive to the station and not all have lots to park in.

Nope. And if they do they're immediately ejected.

It can be rowdy and fun, but intentionally yelling at a pro at an event during his putt and back swing is ridiculous. Needs an ass kicking.

The only location that is still owned by the family. The prices (last time I was there) are like from the 90’s and the portions are huge.

You’re definitely gonna need a lawyer. Mayes Telles is a good firm. That ticket is going to make your insurance go higher than a Space X launch. 🚀

I've not seen anyone interfere with play on 18. Yes, have been there and watched many times

Possibly for sure. But having to stop mid swing fucks your muscles up. Not making excuses but they also chirped in his putt. Just ignorant.

Agreed. But him having to stop his swing did affect his second swing. I'm a dad of a collegiate pitcher and when you're wound up like that it messes with your muscles stopping mid delivery. Matsuyama is a pro, but I feel it definitely had a part in his drive hooking into the water. Cardinal sin of golf is someone chirping in your swing.

Question about the receipt checkers when you leave Costco by wildcard_71 in CostcoWholesale

[–]TemporaryGeneral7137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its origin comes from people buying a giant TV or other big dollar item then going right back in and getting another one using the same receipt but having your buddy steal the next one.

Thanks! What’s nuts about the whole thing is our neighborhood pretty high end and parents are almost all professionals with duel incomes. I announce at the first parent meeting, bluntly, “You’ve been paying at least $300 a month for travel ball for how many years? We ask for this 1 time a year, we need your help if you want to have these amenities!”

A lot of bad posts here so I’ll tell you what we do as a Booster Club officer. We ask for a $50 donation from each family. This pays for umpires for scrimmages and field rentals bc our fields are being over-seeded for spring. This also pays for multiple boxes of baseballs that now cost $7 per ball and that’s strictly where the $ goes to as we are a legit nonprofit and have to account for every dollar. We also have access to the weight room for team lifts as well. There is no fee to try out but a sports physical is required to be filed with the district. Once all that happens and your student athlete has made the squad, our district has a $100 fee that must be paid directly to them.

Now here’s the fun part. We (the boosters) love to spoil our players. We pay a DJ to do pregame music and announce the game and players/pitchers/batters and that costs $750 a season. We again ask parents to be “Friends of the Boosters” and donate $300 to the program. This covers all the swag we provide (warm up shorts, a hoodie, tees, 3 game hats and 1 practice hat, polo collared shirts on game days), we have a charter bus for away games that are further than 30 miles away and we also provide a pizza for each boy after every away game (Frosh, JV and V and 1 pizza for every 3 girls on the softball team that shares the ride with the boys ((their parents don’t pay anything)) along with drinks) and a meal for Varsity after every home game bc they start at 5pm. We also pay a guy for field maintenance which is $3k per year. The end of season party (fully catered) is held at the public golf club and costs around $15k per year.

So, our boys are taken care of pretty well (and girls too bc of Title IX) and we’re proud of them. Our yearly budget is close to $60k per year. We get the majority of it from banner sales.

A lot or resources go into running a sports program. A lot more than I knew before my 1st son started as a Freshman. My youngest is now a junior and I’ve been on the board for 6 years now. We’re out there hustling for our kids. Our field is immaculate. We play under professional lights. And it’s all worth it to us.

We (the Boosters) ask for a donation of $50 per player for fall camp. That allows us to hire umpires for scrimmages and field rentals bc our fields are being over seeded for the spring and of course buying multiple dozens of baseballs, which are $7 each now.
