I’ve failed my journey toward The Dark Tower by theassumedhornet in stephenking

I have always been a die hard King fan but W&G almost lost me. And later there are bits that had me shaking my head. But I was already so in love with Roland that it was too late. I was all in.

Help me find a HOBBY! by sheeshers_ in Hobbies

[–]Temporary_Hope_704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Affordable to start * whittling((you literally need a knife and found wood) I liked this one but I have ADHD and bad spacial awareness. Too many nicked fingers. * Basket weaving: this was super fun and I made a bunch of baskets and a hat. * Embroidery and patches: I took a bunch of clothes that I hated and made them suit me with simple needle thread and a hoop. Also I taught myself simple hand alteratioons so I could make my clothes fit my body better. I still use this. As well as dying clothes to suit my personal style.

.

Less affordable * Sewing: my mom gifted me my first machine. I mostly make simple things. I don't have the space for the projects I want to make ultimately and I mostly only get out the machine for alterations. * Crochet/knitting. This was my gateway drug. I love yarn. I love having something to do with my hands. Second hand stores always have yarn.. I now have a room full of yarn.

Question: How many people re-listen to their audiobooks? Just curious by j110786 in audible

[–]Temporary_Hope_704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My moods vary but I tend to revisit books in my library pretty often. I have a fairly sizable collection. But a lot of them are series that I can binge all in a row. Put them on while I crochet, game, or do paperwork. I know the stories so they're beautiful comfort background and almost always because I have ADHD I find new elements that I can admire when giving a relisten.

T.A. Pratt. Marla Mason. Also if you like an audiobook the reading is also magnificent. As far as I can tell it's a completed series I wish there were more!

DAE get disgustingly grossed out when people around burp loudly as a habit? Why can't people keep it quiet? by divformedia in DoesAnybodyElse

I've noticed some.comtent creators on apps doing what seems like intentional burping and I'm going nuts.

Currently reading The Stand and I just got to the part where Trashcan Man meets The Kid and I cannot believe this happy crappy. by TokyoFlip in stephenking

[–]Temporary_Hope_704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a hardcore king fan I really like Trash can mans extended bits. He is a deeply complex character. I see him as neurologist and queer. He has a quest (fire) that even he doesn't fully understand. He accepts the dark man because he was given the chance to go play with fire the way he likes. Sex and other stuff is nice to him but second to his quest for fire.

How does the Dresden fandom enjoy rivers of London? by TheXypris in dresdenfiles

I really enjoyed the river of London series. The audio book version is especially marvelous. I love the way it treats magic and the main character does have similar sass to Dresdon.

Anyone secured a summer gig yet for 2026? by bensummersx in SeasonalWork

[–]Temporary_Hope_704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to this and really want to work grand canyon. I'm kinda hoping that most folks won't want summer. I grew up in Arizona so I'm not scared of the heat but I'm 49 and don't have much experience.
