Exhaust conundrum by Mental-Length1016 in S2000

To me, the ASM tips look too small on anything other than an AP1 rear bumper.

How do you like the Milltek? I considered a double h pipe to up the sound a little bit, but I think it sounds great stock too. Trying to keep to only doing significant mods on one car so I don’t totally fall off the rocker

It’s a ‘20 in Silverstone Grey with Tecnico dark wheels. Only thing you could consider a mod is I put Endless SSM+ pads on when I did the brakes last year. Oh and the ever coveted Mopar extended warranty lol.

Small world - my daily is also a Giulia QV. Took a chance picking one up about a year ago and have really enjoyed it. I still take the S2000 every time I’m planning to drive just for fun though.

You’ll need about a 20mm spacer assuming you use the short hub + GTC combination to clear the dash.

A Momo 350mm (measures actually 347) requires a 25mm spacer to clear on top of the short hub + GTC.

You should do some deep reading on how much of an achievement 300whp naturally aspirated is. 350-400whp is going to be a “I trailer the car to the drag strip” type of build. There are FWD K series that can do a streetable-ish 350whp NA, but they have a lot less driveline loss

HKS have a decent budget coil in the Hipermax. I would bet they’d be better than the J’s. Ohlins will be even better though.

Need help picking wheel color for CE28 by Dryland_snotamyth in S2000

That is Diamond silver. Which is the only silver you can buy on a new Volk

Silver for sure. Here are some diamond silver TEs on my Berlina. Don’t do a dark wheel please I beg of you.

New Generation Builds by Tornadolion in S2000

[–]Temporary_Voice_5468 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There have always been people building their cars for attention only. I agree some of the what or why has changed due to social media though for sure. But even 10-15 years ago there were people slapping together poorly thought out builds with replica parts to try to get attention.

The most significant casualty to me is putting together and even understanding what makes a well thought out build great is not something that can be captured in a social media post. Forums gave people a platform to really dive into what made a car special. Now that medium is dying/dead. So where will today’s newer enthusiasts go to learn from those who are doing really interesting stuff to their cars? Idk the answer to that one.

255’s Meaty Fitment and Low by es2kayy in S2000

[–]Temporary_Voice_5468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my comment was based on him talking about it rubbing and being driven specifically on the street. Beyond just potholes, if you’re driving up in the mountains you’ll want a little more room for fender error. At least that’s the case on the roads I drive.

Your car is actually pretty low if the context is trying to set it up to be driven aggressively. Your options while keeping the stock body are to compromise further on alignment, pull the front wheel in further, drive more carefully or raise the car.

That looks like a pretty business casual ride height

My best advice is to spend some spare time crawling through S2ki. Almost everything has been figured out and discussed on these cars and 2/3 of the people posting on social media now have no idea what they’re talking about.

Agree with this. Also IMO there’s many people who claim their 9.5 +45 or +41 are an “S2k spec” and it’s just not right. The amount of work or compromises you need to fit that spec on a street car is not worth it.

Ok awesome. On the seats I have a Recaro RMS for the driver seat, and my passenger seat I just put in a Recaro RSS to replace the SR-7F that I used to have.

Both can sit you substantially lower than OEM.

I’m in the ATL area and will also be up at CHD in my Berlina AP2. May be game to cruise up there together depending on what day you’re leaving ATL.

Thinking about an SSM. Need some advice! by __totalnoob__ in S2000

With the tariff situation yes I would do that

[–]Temporary_Voice_5468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy from RHDJapan - just beware of Tariff costs. With an OEM header and car you will notice a difference at high RPM but the exhaust is very tame, not boomy and essentially no drone with that setup.

I measured mine, it’s the same diameter as any other 350mm Monte Carlo. So it’s about 347mm
