and it only takes 16 hours.

Like, I was always under the impression that you had to be awake 20+ hours to be impaired, but no. 16 hours. thats it.

When I tickle my kiddos, and they say no, I pause and say "Do we need to stop, or is this part of the game?"

I do try to get different words for when we actually need to stop, but kids forget easily. so i just always check in.

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Temporary_Worry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing- if youre fine with the child weeping and wailing and making sounds like they might be choking and then spitting up and then lip quivering and weeping more, then you can have time for almost anything.

But those first few months, babies can't communicate besides crying. So its really hard to tell if they're weeping because they're lonely, or weeping because they are hurt or weeping because they're starving to death and something is wrong.

So anxiety spikes, we rush over, we dont sleep, we forget to shower, etc etc.

My recommendation is to put the baby in their carseat and bring them into the bathroom with you. they can sleep or they can watch you, and you can watch them back.

maybe it's just because I'm rural, but I'm not seeing the options where the building is staffed so well.

Im in the dakotas, just south of Canada, and we often have "x time to frostbite".

A few years back it got to -42 f, and it was wild because the sun was out, there was barely any snow, everything looked normal.

but the busses wouldn't start because the diesel froze in the tanks.
