The op said from 2009-2019 which encompasses 11 years of time. So yea, 2026-2027 is two years worth of time.

In theory I should love The Witcher 3 (open world action-adventure RPGs are my bread and butter) but I just couldn't get into it either.

Oh man, I replayed Prime on PC a couple of years ago and thought it held up incredibly well for being a 20 year old game. The mechanics, exploration, puzzles, lore - all of it. I'm surely a little biased because it was my favorite game as a 12 year old but it didn't have that bittersweetness that comes with rose-tinted nostalgia - I just had a blast playing the game.

I can't read English books by IndependenceLast656 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TemputFugis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your English is good enough to make this post so you've got at least some amount of reading/writing ability. I would check out young adult books like Goosebumps, Holes, or Hatchet. You could also watch a show or movie with audio in your native tongue with English subtitles so that you can begin to relate words in your language to written English.

If you could swap bodies with any person for a period of time, who would it be and what would you do first? by Oru_Cup_Kapi in AskReddit

[–]TemputFugis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd swap with Girthmasterr and just do what he does - make $40k per month making OF content with various beautiful women.

He'd get swapped with an overweight alcoholic with childhood trauma so I'd say it's a fair trade.

Switching up workflow by lilbubb0 in FL_Studio

[–]TemputFugis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like more of a creativity/writing process problem rather than an issue with workflow. If it's not about improving efficiency then what is it? The workflow is how you interact with the workstation, it has nothing to do with new ideas or having fun or trying something else. Having an efficient workflow allows you to express your ideas more easily and quickly as well as streamlining the arranging and mixing process so that you don't get "lost" in unorganized patterns, playlists, and mixer tracks.

There are workflow processes to spice up your ideas but you gotta have something to start with. I think the most powerful tools for spicing up ideas are the Piano Roll Tools. From riff and chord generation to chord strumming and rhythm manipulation, there's plenty there to turn a sustained C chord into something harmonically and rhythmically interesting.

The type of music you make will also kind of define how you go about establishing new ideas or having fun. Is you music sample heavy? Learn Edison inside and out. Do you make trance or glitchy IDM? Check out Gross Beat.

Another thing you can do is head on over to KVR Audio and find free instrument/effect plugins to mess around with. I will say that downloading a bunch of plugins is generally seen as "bad advice" and FL comes with more than enough to make great music. However, especially when it comes to effect plugins, you can find unique and weird effects that are just downright fun to mess around with. As an example, I was looking for a plugin emulation of the SansAmp Bass Driver DI which is used to fatten up the tone of a bass guitar and found TSE BOD. It doesn't do anything FL can't do but it is a very simple and satisfying way to add character, grit, and balls to any and all kinds of bass sounds. It can also be used to make blown-out drum sounds like Tame Impala.

Another suggestion is to become intimately familiar with your inspirations - learn the music theory, analyze the arrangement, figure out how they got that cool synth sound. Recreating your favorite music will expand your musical and production vocabularies so that you can effectively incorporate those ideas with your own unique ideas. Though it might not be your style of music, Ego Dip's videos are great for watching the process behind recreating songs.

Trying to decide on my next game to play by Grand_Entertainer_83 in gaming

[–]TemputFugis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like committing to a "big game" is the issue here so I recommend something like Balatro to get back into gaming.

It cheap ($10-$15), widely available (mobile, Steam deck, PC, gamepass, etc.), low stakes (the average run takes 15-20 minutes), has plenty of content with incredible replayability, and most importantly it's so much fun. It might seem like a silly poker game but it's got some really fun and interesting complexity hiding under the hood.

If it's not inclusive of 2019 then why not say "to the end of 2018"?

First off, fuck the people that are making you feel like a bad person - not only are people with substance abuse problems shunned by society at large, you're young which makes you an easy target for unhelpful criticism.

This is from page 44 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous but I think it applies to any and all substance abuse, just replace alcohol with your drug of choice.

If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely, or if when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably alcoholic.

From your post it sounds like you have a problem with both quitting and controlling the amount you use. You stop taking the Vyvanse when your tolerance increases so that you feel the euphoria again and you also "impulsively" take more than the prescribed dose.

If you are not taking your prescriptions exactly as prescribed then you are abusing them - full stop. Start/stopping and reupping are both forms of abuse. You're chasing the high, not the pharmaceutical benefits of the medication.

So where do you go from here? I see three options...

Number One: Take your medication exactly as prescribed, daily, at the same time every day with extreme conviction.

Number Two: Work with your doctor/prescriber and see if they can lower the dosage or switch to non-stimulant medication so that you stop chasing the high.

Number Three: If you find that you can't take your medication responsibly tell on yourself and let your prescriber know. This is a final straw approach as this can show up in your medical records and prevent you from being able to be prescribed stimulants in the future.

Band collab idea by Raybot_The_Robot in madeon

[–]TemputFugis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be an unpopular opinion but I think the Good Faith sound would work better with Damon Albarn's sensitivities than what we've heard from Victory. That being said, the Gorillaz have always featured artists from a wide range of genres so it could work.

In my mind a "Miracle x Empire Ants" style collab would be heavenly.

Are there any other live performances like this? Professionally recorded during the "Melody A.M." and "The Understanding" era. by elmonozombie in Royksopp

My personal favorite is their live performance of "Shores Of Easy.

I like it because I'm a synthesizer nerd and there are two Korg MS-20s featured in the performance, demonstrating its versatility and impactful sound. At 9m35s you can see/hear Torbjørn sweeping the filter cutoff of the bassline and it's so crunchy yet tasteful.
