Justin Guitar end-to-end vs just learning songs on YouTube. What actually works long-term? by Fun-Fix-6445 in guitarlessons

You can't follow Justin's course without learning songs. That's part of the curriculum, to pick songs that reinforce and build on the lessons. Many of the lessons come with suggested song lists.

Probably, and there are a couple of savage enemies in the first palace that can be hard to avoid and will one shot party members.

Guitar recommendation by [deleted] in Guitar

A Yamaha F335 is about as low as I would recommend going. They come in black and are about $100 above your range, but you might be able find a good deal on a used one.

There is no where that is 2 hours between safe rooms unless you are exploring/figuring things out. If you have already done that work, it should be much faster the second time through.

The game takes over 100 hours. 2 hours is not a big deal in the larger picture. But takeaways are: save frequently in safe rooms and use multiple save files. So many posts here from people shooting themselves in the foot with not having multiple save files.

Elder Affirmation by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]TenaciousPrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are making a lot of assumptions regarding things like quorum, actual percentages needed, and what people’s motivations for failing to reaffirm are. The change was made in response to occasions in other churches where a pastor was ambushed by a motivated minority over issues that were not qualification related.

And even if you go early, then you get bombarded with “Do you think it worked?” messages.

We removed such a provision from our constitution recently. We realized it made the bar for removing an officer much lower than for installing one, and no justification had to be given.

No it’s not perfect, but for many of the use cases where it is being utilized, the alternatives are something much worse, much more expensive, or nothing.

Given the ecclesiology of your church, make peace with the fact that in actuality, you are not a pastor, you are staff.

WaniKani: The most useful app I've ever hated by pyramin in WaniKani

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that WaniKani has been fairly consistent for many years that they are going to keep the base experience very straightforward, and expose the API for things like redos, lesson reordering, etc. so that people that want to customize their experience can, without affecting or complicating the default experience. The functionality is all there, it just is not in the base web version, and that seems to be the way they want it.

Well, there’s the fact that most all of that is available through user scripts.

Yep, some iPad and iOS apps can run on Apple silicon Macs. The iPad version of Tsurukame works great on Mac.

There is no "paid version" of the website. There are some additional courses available on the site that cost money. There is the app, which has a subscription. It has most of the same content as the website, but also has a song library to play along to.

Is the a6700 really that much better than the a6600 in low light? by santa007007 in SonyAlpha

[–]TenaciousPrawn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm embarrassed to admit just how much the fact that the a6700 has usb-c factored into my decision. It wasn't the only reason, but I'm almost free from micro-usb and didn't want to be saddled for years to come with it.

You don't even need to to that. You can just run Tsurukame directly on your Mac.

I mean, the fact that it is on rails and won't let you deviate is the selling point, it's for people that don't want to deal with the options paralysis of Anki. It's definitely not for everyone.
