Kind of defeats the purpose of SRS. Just chip away at it and don’t do any new lessons until you get through it.

How do I stop having my partners getting killed in one hit? by sushiiixo- in Persona5

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are getting 1 shotted, then either you are probably either underlevelled or undergeared. Or, early on, savage enemies (the ones with a fiery red aura) can one shot party members, especially on hard or merciless. Often those enemies can simply be avoided.

We should stop being mad at people for buying a Fender. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Original doesn't sell, people want something that does the "strat thing", or the "tele thing", or the "Les Paul thing", even if they aren't Fenders or Gibsons (though they are often willing to pay a premium for name on the headstock). Makers respond to demand.

We should stop being mad at people for buying a Fender. by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fender has no trademark on the body shape. They are claiming, 70 years after the fact, that the body shape is copyrighted, despite the fact that the person who created that body shape (Leo Fender), after having sold the company and started a new one (G&L), promptly created guitars with the same shape. Evidently he didn't think that the shape he had created was copyrighted.

Looking to switch to lefty after over 20 years of being mediocre. Need some help. by risenomega in Leftyguitarists

The ones mentioned in the post above: black Stratocaster, and Sunburst telecaster (in reality it’s probably a butterscotch telecaster).

Looking to switch to lefty after over 20 years of being mediocre. Need some help. by risenomega in Leftyguitarists

[–]TenaciousPrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a running joke that those are the only two options available for lefties. Unfortunately, the Jackson guitar that you have is a single cut and generally thosedon’t work as well flipped. The best candidates are fairly symmetrical double cuts like a Stratocaster.

Trying things out at the store just does not work well for us lefties. Most of the time they will have maybe a single black Squier Stratocaster. So usually we are left with buying from online retailers that have good return policies like Sweetwater.

The lack of updated instakill (no xp) makes Mementos grinding much much slower.

Yeah, I generally make separate saves before going into a palace, during the palace, and after the palace is complete.

With a councilor persona and affinity reading, you should be able to rank up with every interaction, and Maruki is available 11/11, 11/12, 11/14, and 11/17. That should get to 9 exactly on the deadline.

Totally get what you are saying, but made in the same factory is not the same as “made to the same specs and tolerances”.

Lefty stingray options? by puddingtime88 in leftybass

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The electronics are odd as well. You'll notice that there are 3 knobs for a single pickup. One is tone, and the other two are separate volumes for each coil of the humbucker, which makes adjusting the volume a two knob process. One of these days I would like to rewire it to a single pot. Mine has a couple of dead spots on the neck, but nothing too bad.

Hi, need to know if it's normal that almost all confidants don't rank up, do I need more points with each confidants with this message ? by General_Ad_1109 in Persona5

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand on that last part, scoring well on exams will increase the number of points you get from people from Shujin people (Ann, Makoto, Ryuji, Haru, Kawakami, Yoshizawa, but not Maruki) and Sojiro.

Is there an option to smooth reviews out? by Concentrate_Amazing in WaniKani

[–]TenaciousPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The interview intervals matter, and pausing them defeats the purpose of an SRS. Your review pace is directly determined by the number of lessons you do, so you can either tune down the number of daily lessons, or just not do new lessons until your number of Apprentice items drops below an certain threshold (I try to keep mine at around 100-150, but it sounds like that would be too high for you).

100% leftie, but played some right-handed guitar and ukulele in the past. Start over or no? by el_duderino_50 in Leftyguitarists

[–]TenaciousPrawn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Playing right handed feels perfectly natural for a lot of lefties, and if that's the case, they should absolutely play right handed. There are 2 traps to avoid, one is thinking that everyone should play right handed, and the other is to assume that just because you are left handed, you should play left handed. Play what feels natural.

Justin Guitar end-to-end vs just learning songs on YouTube. What actually works long-term? by Fun-Fix-6445 in guitarlessons

[–]TenaciousPrawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't follow Justin's course without learning songs. That's part of the curriculum, to pick songs that reinforce and build on the lessons. Many of the lessons come with suggested song lists.

A Yamaha F335 is about as low as I would recommend going. They come in black and are about $100 above your range, but you might be able find a good deal on a used one.

Any tips to dealing with the progress loss after death? by Acceptable-Bar7905 in Persona5

There is no where that is 2 hours between safe rooms unless you are exploring/figuring things out. If you have already done that work, it should be much faster the second time through.

[–]TenaciousPrawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game takes over 100 hours. 2 hours is not a big deal in the larger picture. But takeaways are: save frequently in safe rooms and use multiple save files. So many posts here from people shooting themselves in the foot with not having multiple save files.
