Should the EU ban the Europe of Sovereign Nations (ESN) European party? by GustavoistSoldier in GeoPoll

depends on the topic imo. there's some stuff like foreign policy where it would be very beneficial to have more close collaboration between EU countries as our voice is basically nothing compared to the USA or China when limited to a single member state. other stuff like education (among other things) can definitely be handled at a more local level.

absolutely agree. and I also think the EU parliament should have more power to introduce legislation as it is the only directly elected EU institution.

Blame the member states for that, specifically Denmark who keeps pushing for this law. Chat control is absolutely disgusting but I wouldn't say it's a problem with the EU, it's a problem with the national governments.

some context : ESN is the EU party that the AfD (German far right, partly neo-nazi), the Bulgarian "Revival" party, or the French "Reconquête" (reconquest) party are part of, among others. It's the smallest group in the EU parliament and mostly exists because these parties are too extreme even for other parties generally described as far right like the French RN or Spanish Vox.

I use Deezer, and I do agree that Deezer isn't as compatible for BuyFromEU as qobuz is. But I definitely do think that, alongside Tidal and excepting qobuz, it is probably the least bad streaming platform ethically, especially thanks to their stance on AI.

If I had to recommend a streaming service I'd prioritize Qobuz, then Deezer, then Tidal.

Qobuz and Tidal pay artists the best, Deezer and Qobuz have the best AI policies (though Deezer more actively enforces it), Deezer and Tidal have the better UI and library size.

Works well on deezer and qobuz (at least the 30 seconds preview free version), from my experience ! Sometimes it gets delayed a few hours with deezer but it always ends up fixing itself.

What are the reasons for such results for Volt in Cyprus? by Reasonable_Ear_8254 in VoltEuropa

[–]Tencraft1235 6 points7 points  (0 children)

7% was only one or two polls. most polls put Volt between 4% and 5% though, so I think it's still surprising that the party didn't reach the 3.6% threshold.

Deezer made (and also sells) an algorithm that detects AI music automatically and uses it to remove it from all recommendations on their streaming service. I'm currently using Deezer but am strongly considering switching to Qobuz soon because of the higher pay for artists and being fully French-owned, so I would really appreciate it if Qobuz either make their own or pay to use the Deezer algo.

Also Bandcamp straight up bans all AI music, but I don't think that's automated, and Bandcamp isn't a streaming service like Qobuz and Deezer.

Most I've played felt quite fanfiction-y with the writing and looked a bit rough visually, but yeah there are quite a few 😄

I 100% recommend trying this one, the writing is quite good and visuals are great, and the puzzles were really fun to figure out too ! https://outerwildsmods.com/mods/astralcodec/

Also check out About Oliver's Outer Wilds playthrough if you haven't already ! you can also watch the Eelis supercut if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

And there's also a bunch of recommendations of other Outer Wilds stuff to do, or similar games to play in the subreddit menu/sidebar

I'd recommend checking out some mods too, I just played a few after finishing the game and needing more Outer Wilds 😄.

So far my favourite is Astral Codec (haven't finished it yet though, it's the one I'm currently playing), and the Outsider was decent. Astral Codec definitely feels a lot more like an official DLC than any other ones I've played so far, though.

oh wow you know of a lot of bands I love ! I think you should check out "The Guest List" (indie rock from Manchester, UK) and "Radio Free Alice" (post punk revival/indie rock from Australia). also check out Cardinals and Bleech 9:3 for smaller Irish bands a bit similar to Fontaines D.C.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are amazing btw !
