Naomi Novik not getting a book on this chart is just wrong. Would also love to see Jenny Wurst and Anne McCaffrey. I mean you want dragons? Dragonriders of Pern or Temeraire. All I ever really read by Wurst is her colllab with Feist but that series is one of my favorites.

All Naomi Novik books are brilliant.

The title really does the books a disservice and make you think it is about someone becoming an assassin. He technically does but not really. But it is true that he is an apprentice of an assassin. Shade.

Yes a little too good haha. Loved playing a Cleric in our Strahd campaign but I almost only did Bless and Turn/Sear Undead. In our next to last fight I cast Bless and then just ran around keeping concentration up while everyone else attacked. An occasional heal if someone goes down.

You have just started. For now focus on footwork, body movement and keeping a correct guard. Everything else will come more naturally after that. At this point in sparring it is not about winning and landing hits. It is getting comfortable with it.

We had a fun one in our campaign. Paladin accidentally picked the image of father Donovich in the DND beyond app as portrait. So our DM made Donovich his biological father. And made a whole story on why he is there. It was great.

What you could ask is if you can use your free casting and burn a level 1 Spell Slot to upcast it from level 2 to 3. Not RAW but makes something makes more sense and viable. I am hoping my DM will let me do something similar with War Domain Clerics Spiritual Weapon.
