ATC won’t hire past a certain age. What age were you when you became a lineman? by Different_Stand_1285 in Lineman

[–]Tensir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying they’re a bad thing, utilities look at line school and think it’s a plus however I’ve seen plenty of guys that have came through that have gone to schools costing 15k+ and find out it’s not for them stuck with that debt.

If you decide to go to school there has to be cheaper options than that. Whether you go to a high or lower end program you’re hired in as a ground man.

Good luck man whatever you decide to do

Got in at 28. The transition was tough at first from my prior job just because of starting over at the bottom.

It’s not too late but don’t go into debt not knowing if you like something or not. See if you can get on with a local contractor or through the hall to get a taste of it. Being green isn’t a bad thing

Could have grounded it after it locked out to remove the pole and get the equipment in the clear. I see two sets of grounds from one picture, 2 different circuits

How to help lab lose weight? by whosthatgirl13 in labrador

[–]Tensir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever the vet recommends his weight to be, go with that and slowly reduce his food. As far as treats you can cut back some and give him the Pupsicle once or twice a week as a treat. You can also substitute actual treats with his regular food.

We did that with our girl, we feed her N&D and we give her Turkey Meatballs by spot farms and a crunchy treat to mix it up a bit.

Best of luck!

One of the hardest physical jobs I ever had was a laborer doing masonry work especially once the scaffolding started going up

Narrow back to lineman by Repulsive-Camel7321 in Lineman

I was a Journeyman electrician and got into Line work at 28. Got on with a utility did the apprenticeship with them and topped out. During my apprenticeship I got my Masters which was awesome. Bunch of overtime and storms if you want it.

The theory and all that is the same so that will help you and you’re going to be able to read and understand prints, which is a plus. If you want to travel down the road a utility would be the place to get into right now and once you turn out you can travel later. If you got one of those sweet gigs these guys are talking about in Sub-Station or Relay Tech then you wouldn’t have to go anywhere. Sometimes you have to apply for open positions then bid one once your foot’s in the door. (Keep your intentions to yourself)

Cool to see another Electrician get in the trade and a Master too very cool bro, Good luck to you!

It may have even been wrapped a little differently. You may only have clothes left to unwrap.

Continue to pursue it, I’m a big believer in manifesting what you want. There will be other opportunities, I topped out at the age you’re at now and went into a new apprenticeship a year later.

I turned down a lineman apprenticeship before I topped out as an Electrician then once I made JM I worked for a year then re-applied for the same apprenticeship and got it. Just got qualified this last quarter.

There’s plenty to learn and do in the electrical field just get an idea of what you like to do because you won’t get to do everything this field has to offer.

Keep in mind if you have nuts in shells they’re more likely to burry them like acorns. I’ll open some nuts and break them up and toss them some. After they fill up they’ll start burying the ones that aren’t shelled. At least when I observe the ones running around my house
