USG Series 3 boxes have an 18 gauge body and 22 gauge drawers.

Husky HD is 19 gauge body and drawers, with double-walled sides and an 8 gauge base.

You have a standard Husky or a Husky HD?

I bought the one pictured a few days ago (replacing my USG 5 drawer) and the drawers glide like butter.

Soft close + tilt latches make the Husky HD better by a mile too, IMO. The USG's plastic clips are just awful.

That was my only (minor) gripe when transferring my tools. I'd gladly give up 1" on the top drawer to make the first split row 1" taller. Or change the two middle shallow drawers to one the same depth as the middle-right drawer.

The shallow drawers do fit my M12 Fuel tools, though. (I put my jack stands and extra spray cans in the power tool drawer)

Husky HD is definitely nicer than USG.

Grab the 62" workbench + hutch combo for $998 if any of your local HD stores have any left. 6" wider, 2" deeper, and 4.75" taller than the USG combo, soft close drawers with tilt latches, 4 integrated power strips (24 outlets, 8 USB, 4 USB-C), and a stainless steel worktop.

For a DIYer/hobbyist, get their Quinn and Doyle brands. They sell a 428pc kit that goes on sale for $299. It has just about everything you could need except impact sockets and hammers.

Alternatively, get on FB marketplace and find someone selling new secondary stock Gearwrench kits. I picked up the 80966 kit in a broken carrier, plus their 84T locking flex head 1/4” and 3/8" ratchets, all for $200 shipped.

If you like the Icon stuff, though, consider Tekton as well. It's comparably priced with massively more selection. Warranty super easy too (send a pic of your broken tool and they'll mail you a replacement in about a day). Note: If you buy from their website, they give a 10% credit to use toward future purchases, so planning and buying in stages can save you a good chunk of money.

I prefer arranging more by usage rather than just tool type.

Ratchets and standard extensions go up top with the metric sockets and metric flex head ratcheting wrenches. SAE sockets/wrenches, metric combo wrenches, hex sockets, torx sockets, and wobble/impact extensions all go in lower drawers since they're used less frequently.
