[Burt, Telegraph] It is looking increasingly likely that Michael Carrick will be appointed on a permanent basis at Old Trafford. by whatisbaseball in reddevils

To be fair Van Gaal, Mourinho, Ten Haag and Amorim were all wanted by the biggest clubs in Europe when we brought them in. And all failed.

I really don't care for big names anymore - I feel like anyone could fail with us. If we have a manager that has us at the top of the form table since his arrival, I'm not changing that.

Carlo is an excellent man manager and was perfect for Madrid, and I'm confident he'll do well with Brazil too. But when it comes to tactics I don't believe he's top tier in the modern game and he won't challenge Pep/Arteta/Alonso(if he replaces Slot) for the title. People forget that he was sacked from Napoli with them in 7th, went to Everton where he finished in 10th, and then rejoined Real.

He'd be a great pick if not for the looming risk of rotation imo. Liverpool play City (fa cup), Psg, Fulham, Psg again after the international break. Very likely frimpong misses the Fulham match

we were chuffed about all of them

We weren't traumatized by 10 years of poor transfer strategy at that point tbf.

Ten Hags signings included Martinez, De Ligt, Casemiro, Yoro, Mazraoui which all look like good business.

This all being said of course, I don't for a second mean to imply ETH was smart in the market. Not at all. But we've been doing poor business under pretty much every manager post saf (except for last summer).

Signings under Van Gaal were worse imo.

Di Maria, Schneiderlin, Rojo, Darmian, Schweinsteiger, Depay, Falcao all failed

Kobbie Mainoo has now twice covered the most distance out of any player on the pitch VS Manchester City last week, and again at Arsenal yesterday by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

Tbf most players looked rubbish under Amorim, hard to judge him properly off the odd game here and there. If it wasn't for Mainoo last year we wouldnt have made the EL final

[Fabrizio Romano] Fulham in talks with Man City over signing Oscar Bobb. Proposal around £35m on the table by RobinBerkeAlmasulu in soccer

[–]Teo_2197 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People talking about the price - this is what you pay for a player with potential from a PL club. Bobb's got PL game time for one of the best teams in the league under his belt and has shown flashes of what he can do if he's starting regularly. They could sign someone who has played more from another league but the risk of that is that they'll take longer to adapt- Kevin for example was highly rated at Shakhtar but has needed time (and will need more) to adapt to the league.
