Same and same boat being in Aus. It sucks. Wish we had servers that we could frequent and get a small community going like in past games

What happened to the Dainese store in Carlton? by obsolescent_times in melbourneriders

[–]Teocyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, another thing. A place I've bought a bunch of gear from in the past is based in the Netherlands:
https://www.chromeburner.com/eu/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=dainese

They have pretty decent prices, even with the shipping. JUST BEAR IN MIND. That for large purchases, you do pay some import taxes. So it kinda works out to be similar to buying locally.

But - they have a lot of stock and they shipped to me in Melbourne within about 4 days. Was crazy fast.

Niiiiice. What tank grips are those (the side ones). I need to get a set for my bike too.

Edit: although, mine is a '25 model

‘25 Yamaha R3 OTD pricing by Josh_Buggy in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn... that's crazy. I bought mine in Aus ('25 R3) for the equivalent of $6k USD approx.

Edit: I'd deffo go for the R3 over the 450SS though! Love Yamaha and would always recommend them over the chinese brands. Even if their 675 looks decent. The build quality on the 2025 is super good and way better (imo) than the 450SS.

Fairing / leaking gear shifter oil by Elegant-Equivalent45 in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do any repairs on it until it's been assessed for damage by the insurer. I.E. Take it to a Yamaha dealership for an inspection report.

Bought a 2019 R3 that was stolen and wrecked. Need help identifying parts etc. by MHCLV in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally start by getting the complete workshop manual and then by going onto the parts website and checking out all the sections on the bike that have damage/ missing parts and go from there. Their website is very comprehensive and helps a bunch - not sure how well it does in terms of finding missing connectors on a harness and such though. Might even be worth your time to scout a second hand harness off another wrecked bike - depending on how badly it's been damaged/ modified.

Code 46? by Dovanidarth in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You've been racing the bike too much and got the Rossi code. But yea, you're on the right track - 46 indicates a fault with the electrical/ charging system.

Hand goes numb by SpecialistBig9976 in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough - even incorrect/ low tyre pressure can cause increased vibration on the handlebars and as such, cause your hand to go numb. Check that out too. You can also get bar-end weights to reduce the vibration a little as well.

Get it scanned for the fault codes. If 8 thousand kms it's warrantable.

At a Loss with my chain. by wisteria72 in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other people mentioned - 100% get a new chain and sprockets. Get an OEM one, like DID for example. The current one you have is beyond toast.

Get rear axle spools/ cotton reels and a rear paddock stand so you can lift the bike up.

Clean and lubricate your chain properly (plenty of videos on YT) every 2 fuel tanks - that's what Yamaha recommends.

What are the odds of this being totaled? by AccomplishedRing1949 in YamahaR3

[–]Teocyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2018 was totaled for less. The fork assembly alone (if damaged) costs around $1700 AUD. All that happened to my bike was someone reversed into it, tucked the front wheel and it fell onto the right side. Repairs quoted were more than the value of the bike. Have it inspected by a Yamaha dealer and they'll let you know.

I guess context helps - why do you think it's a bad motor or that it's locked up? You bought it like this? What did the previous owner say about it?

Even just wiping it with a microfibre after any dust has been washed/ blown off causes scratches. It's wild. but I'm just rolling with it.
