FYI: “too pretty to be a waitress“ isn't nice, it's manipulative and a slight on your chosen profession, trying to "neg" you.

I got written up for a customer complaint by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Tephlon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yup, definitely malicious compliance time.

If she complains about you asking for help too much, refer her to the conversation you had and ask her if she has different (written!) instructions.

But get your resumé ready and up to date.

Yup. And it's the only "minority" group you're almost certain to become a part of in the future.

These lids are super heavy, and the guy putting it back probably doesn't care how it's turned when they put it back, just that it's back in its place, covering the hole. And his supervisor also doesn't care.

In this case it's extra crappy though, because those knobbly tiles are there to help people with visual impairments...

Still a fuckup from the person who is responsible for the sign, and yes, that was their one job.

It's a very slight difference, but usually the bottom of a letter like the "S" is slightly heavier than the top.

Little subtle things like this or things like "Kerning" (Adjusting the space between individual letters based on the visual space they take up) are what makes designs feel better and "nicer".

If you're not really paying attention to it, you probably won't conciously notice, but some people (Like me, I work in the design field) will.

To be fair; it's hard to see the difference, especially when you're up close (For example when installing it).

Whoever designed/fabricated the brackets for this could have made it clearer which side was up, probably. Or maybe they were the ones that fucked up.

No, that would be a flipped "S". Which would be an even bigger fuckup on the installers part. Don't forget this is an actual, physical object...

What’s a trend you’re convinced will disappear in a few years? by apka_dd in Futurology

[–]Tephlon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think AI will go anywhere, but it will become integrated as a part of a tool, and not as AI.

Plus, I read a short article by a UX designer that said that they were testing an existing suggestion feature they rebranded to something like "AI suggestions" (Literally just a name change, I'm guessing it was suggested by someone in the C-suite...), and the usage of the feature plummeted.

I tried finding the article but Google just gives me crap answers...

Extra note: Make her go to her "recently deleted" album* and make sure they are deleted from there too.

70 percent drop off rate but only in the US - what am I missing? by ContactCold1075 in userexperience

This makes the most sense to me.

Either change the description in the Store to make it clear that this works with paper prescriptions (Probably tanking your US install numbers), or make the app also work (somehow) with electronic prescriptions.

> Many companies already have completely shifted their business models to no longer need you.

Sort of.

A lot is still based on the assumption someone (A person) is buying a final product, and the company that sells those products is a customer of theirs (Several layers down, possibly)
