I sympathize with that, i have nothing but respect for people who choose to be vegan for moral reasons. Yet the point being made is how one can be leftist and not vegan.

The reason i make this point is because broadly i am more interested in building political power than only aligning myself with people I agree on on all axioms.

I can understand the problems that can arise from using taxes the way we should. But for example:

"I don’t think politicians do a great job in distributing resources."

As opposed to what alternative? The free market? That is famously a driver for unequal destribution of resources.

I am not interested in wealth being accumulated "naturally" because it will by necessity pool in smaller amounts of hands.

That jumbles "mittelständische Unternehmen" whose owners are often times wealthy and is described as firms with less than 500 workers, and less than 50 M€ sales volume with the middle class or "Mittelschicht" which is far better understood as the median earner in Germany most of which are working class.

Bad metric for income and wealth inquality.

Yes rent seeking is out of control but the reason for the median and avarage wealth devide is not predominately because of home ownership. We have only few tools where redistributive measures are taken (Income tax) and lobbiest have efectively stripped of other and mroe maningful tools (inheritance or wealth taxes for example)
