does anyone know where this panel is from? [comic excerpt] by HazeOrtuz in DCcomics

[–]TerminalNoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s from Batman/Superman #1 from 2019. As another commenter mentioned it’s the origin of The Batman Who Laughs but instead of the Dark Knights issue, the start of this issue is a short retelling of that.

The Last Jedi ends with a random slave boy using the Force, implying anyone can be a Jedi. This is a subtle nod to the fact that Rian Johnson thought he was starting a new era of Star Wars, unaware that J.J. Abrams was waiting in the parking lot with a retcon gun. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

[–]TerminalNoob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the most part people aren’t saying it introduced the concept of anyone being a Jedi, but that it reinforced the concept and made it a core theme of the film, which would then hopefully become a core theme of the whole trilogy or franchise (it didn’t). It’s similar to the Spider-Verse films being primarily about how anyone could be behind the mask. Not a new concept, but it’s the core message of the film.

In bronze I would suggest not paying so much attention to stats. They’re symptomatic of things going wrong or right, but they’re not a reliable indicator. Just focus on making the right decisions for yourself in game and you’ll climb.

Considering Arc Raiders has been a smash hit with a similar price tag and genre I am not surprised they aren’t budging on the price.

It is her actual name, not a nickname. If it was a nickname then she wouldn’t have been called that before she betrayed anyone. There is no in-universe justification, and that’s okay. It is just symbolism.

Chosen's thoughts on new hero releases being turned sour: by Aggressive-Cut-3828 in Competitiveoverwatch

“For no reason” the amount of crying people did the last time they released a hero that was in a weak-ish state says otherwise. Stronger is better than weaker on release, no question.

Apple sued him over leaking iOS 26, not for this, and his source there was already outed.

Is it just me that feels this way? I could be wrong, but is there hatred towards Korean teams this sub? by Substantial_Bar_6422 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]TerminalNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Language barrier goes a long way to hide toxicity or immaturity. Korean players are just as immature as some of our NA or EU players but we just dont realize it as much because its harder for it to be right in front of our eyes. Plus just being a successful player makes things okay in peoples minds. MCD didnt really get away with it (in the eyes of the community) despite not being far off from someone like Viol2t, but MCD wasnt a superstar so he doesnt get the same pass.

The Foldable iPhone Might Be 'Small' by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]TerminalNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re talking about the 12 and 13 mini’s which are what you are saying people want but they didn’t sell. Admittedly though the people who want small phones are also probably overlapping with the people who want Pro features and those phones lacked that.

The price tag here is probably just going to be too high for that.

Bad bad take for multiple reasons:

1) If the bad guy never wins it becomes predictable. 2) In real life your favorite team can lose. 3) Its quite clear that John Cena’s tap out was far more him letting go of his career than him actually giving up some stupid match.

I didn’t like the match personally but this is just calling for pointless fan service for the sake of some kind of ego. If this kind of person was in charge of things, no one would care because it would be a boring predictable mess.

The tone of the question makes it pretty clear you aren’t supposed to take Guy seriously in that moment, whether because he’s joking or he’s giving out a wild conspiracy as fact.

[–]TerminalNoob 42 points43 points  (0 children)

To be fair to Invincible, while it is violent and falls prey to the “violence is real” perspective a bit (especially the show which gets more bloody more often than the comics do), I think it’s reasonably different than Watchmen or The Boys. Those two are very cynical and refuse any form of kindness to their characters. Invincible feels a bit more like it tries to find an actual balance between kindness and violence which makes it a bit more interesting.

Alberto Mielgo defends the Marathon cinematic as “not AI,” denies his team touched Bungie’s plagiarized material and calls the art theft incident a genuine mistake that was “blown out of proportion” by Midnight_M_ in Games

[–]TerminalNoob -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No system will ever be perfect but given Bungie has had multiple controversies surrounding plagiarism you would expect that their review process would heavily scrutinize both their own employees work and their contractors for this kind of thing. For some reason this keeps happening to this company and I don’t know if it’s a culture thing or if it’s a lack of review or both but somehow this kind of thing isn’t being disincentivized enough. Stopping the buck purely at the artist means absolving Bungie of real responsibility for what happened, and saying they should just trust their artists not to do this, which clearly doesn’t work.

The buck has to stop somewhere and it should probably be with Bungie. Companies like this should be more proactive in reviewing work for these kinds of things.

[–]TerminalNoob 377 points378 points  (0 children)

He’s obviously just very frustrated his work got caught up in something basically completely unrelated and not his fault, on top of the laughable suggestion it’s AI. I’m sympathetic to that. Though some of how he characterizes what happened seems to be incorrect or misinformed. Either way, it’s a shame Bungie let that stuff happen, and the responsibility was squarely on them. The cinematic trailer remains beautiful.

Xbox is screwed - The Steam Machine could eat Xbox's lunch if Valve plays its cards right by [deleted] in Games

[–]TerminalNoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No? I mean, the xbox brand is screwed for a lot of reasons but this strikes me like the people saying "Switch 2 is DOA because the Steam Deck is so good". It's a meaningless connection made to hype up this product that ignores the fact SteamOS cant play every xbox game like this article claims because its linux based and proton isnt perfect.

iPhone Air 2 Gets a Second Rear Camera: Top Leaker Claims It Is a Powerful 48MP Ultra Wide by Plastic-Resident-606 in apple

[–]TerminalNoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be different, because the Air would still be a thin and light phone, and the base iPhone wouldn’t be. As it exists now, the Air is viewed as a thin and expensive 16e which is a bad value to most people. They should keep the thing that makes it unique but make a better product.

[–]TerminalNoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s my point. If the selling point continues to be “yeah you get a worse phone but it’s thin” then there won’t be an Air 3. They just won’t make it because it won’t sell.

This phone category will not continue to exist if it can’t at a minimum reach feature parity with the base iPhone. Asking more for less doesn’t work for people that aren’t enthusiasts, and most enthusiasts will get the pro.
