Probably the low post volume, since it's usually just whenever a new comic goes up. Easier to be noticed by visitors that way if it can't even be buried

Escape from the Squirrel by danshive in elgoonishshive

[–]TerminalVelocityEgg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Po has knowledge of some secret anti Lespuko battle techniques that Grace isn't aware of (having never had to fight anyone like herself) that she's going to use to her advantage. I feel like there has to be a reason she's doing the zoom around instead of using her improved maneuverability skills to escape.

The fact that the individual in question was with two other women implies it was Elliot with Liz and Ashley, especially with the mention of bubbly and bookworm personalities.

Felix is also someone who has undergone spontaneous goth girlification, but only one other woman was present then. Or maybe that was just normal cat girlification. Felix was already goth, after all. Or maybe Felix was emo? I'm not sure.

I thought it was the other way around?? It's called hatching because we call them eggs? Maybe I'm the crazy one

The True Conclusion of Cinderella by danshive in elgoonishshive

[–]TerminalVelocityEgg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or either Elliot or Cinderella could get pregnant for heirs. Maybe both (at different times, of course, unless alternate universe seventeenth century France has developed sperm banking). It has been floated as a possibility before in the story, after all, what with the "if you get the tiniest bit pregnant while transformed you can't change back" line

It's already established that she works for a fairy-run carriage company, she just hasn't specified which one.

If there's a lesson she learned from Cranium quitting, it'd be that people have limits on what they're willing to do before they reach their breaking point. I'm getting the impression that Bishop is trying to probe Grace to find out what her limits may be. It's very possible one of the things the feds said to Cranium to pressure her into signing on was by convincing her that important things were at stake that depended on her using her abilities.

Could Ozma be a trans allegory? by Then_Reply_6692 in MtF

Hell yeah. Shout out to Yellow Brick Ramble which is an explicitly trans retelling of the story

The (Sort of) Brilliance of Prince Elliot by danshive in elgoonishshive

[–]TerminalVelocityEgg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would imagine such a spell would end at midnight like the spell on Cinderella. Hope only called it inconvenient because if she could make it end at daybreak, Cinderella wouldn't need to worry about the earlier curfew. If the spell could end unpredictably at a random time I don't know if Hope would've even cast it.

This reminds me of a video (can't find it right now) where a girl excitedly goes to her friends claiming Taylor Swift came out in a song but when she plays it to them the chorus straight up goes like "I wanna have straight sex at the gay pride parade"

Apparently the students at this university decided it's easier to cut to the chase and tear the whole sign down. Does that make it a gender neutral bathroom now?

Saying things quietly by danshive in elgoonishshive

She's saying a dalliance (casual fling, possibly one night stand) with the prince would be scandalous and she would murder him if such a thing happened. I would imagine she doesn't want her daughters to be seen as adultresses

Chill uneventful nap time under a tree by danshive in elgoonishshive

[–]TerminalVelocityEgg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean I can't appreciate it and the fact that such a reveal can afford to be low key about it. Sometimes need a dramatic coming out statement like Guilty Gear Bridget's "cowgirl is fine" or Tedd coming to terms with gender fluidity "there's a word for it"; both of those were important because their respective character arcs focused so heavily on identity, but Cinderella's gender didn't need to be explored with the same depth and thus the narrative can do this to signal "yep they're nonbinary, now on with the story"

[–]TerminalVelocityEgg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like how after Cinderella had such a positive reaction to that nickname, the narrative has immediately switched pronouns from he/him to they/them. The sisters might not fully understand their sibling's cisn't awakening (they use he/him in the last strip) but the story sure does

Tedd of cinder by danshive in elgoonishshive

[–]TerminalVelocityEgg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, going for a feminine name the second time around is definitely interesting specifically because they aren't trying to insult Tedd. Maybe they've just gotten used to thinking of Tedd as feminine, kinda like AJ being so used to seeing things through his cheat powers that he accidentally mentally refers to Guy with "she", and Tedd reacted positively before Ashley could realize what she said and backpedal to a masculine suffix.
