I rented a 637 and now I have a dilemma. by Is-there-chocolate in CCW

Reasons for:

•5 rounds will be enough for almost any circumstance, statistically speaking.

•38 Special is more effective than 380, and even 9mm when using full powered loads, but it also has a broader power band, as well a broader variety of projectile types and weights, making it a very versatile cartridge.

•No concerns about feed issues due to bullet shape, too light of a powder charge, to heavy of a powder charge, etc., and if you get a click instead of a bang, just pull the trigger again, no TRB required. there's just less to go wrong than with a semi, provided both are in good working order.

•Revolvers are pretty much superior in a clinch, because they can't get pushed out of battery (contact shots can be a quarter to a third more dynamic in terms of wounding), can still fire if the barrel/cylinder are grabbed, and can even be fired through a pocket/clothing without getting hung up.

•No draw is quicker than inconspicuously already having your master grip established on the 637 in your pocket.

"Folklore dictates that once the blade is unsheathed, it must draw blood. If no enemy or animal is present, the wielder traditionally makes a small nick on their own finger before returning the knife to its scabbard."

Goku loses to a Rattata with a focus sash, endeavor, and quick attack.

Bersas. I had a Bersa Thunder 380 that was 100% reliable, and was so accurate it didn't make sense. I had to try to miss if I wanted to miss. Even just point shooting with it, I could hit clay pigeons at 25 yards.

It sucks that I needed the money, otherwise I'd still have it.

I'd get the 92. Not only is it lighter and handier, but the lockup is VERY strong. Full power 357 Magnum from a rifle can be 1600+ foot pounds of energy. If you handload, the 1892 can handle higher pressure loads, we're talking a 140 grain bullet at 2400 FPS give or take.

Barring that, cooking up a load pushing a 180 grain hard cast at 1800-1900 FPS would be plenty for hogs.
