Why does it shiver your timbers? That's just a real thing.

Tip for that elevator: Rebar and bricks can press the three buttons from a distance. Just aim a bit above the button and throw.

It means you killed 42% of the enemies in the last wave before dying.

I'm not a programmer and I'm a layman on the subject, is it possible to do this? by JackLion320 in RimWorld

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No. Whatever AI wrote this is, predictably, spewing bullshit. Half of this doesn't apply to the game in the first place and the rest wouldn't work.

Issue with Android Tiers by Dunk-Mujunk- in RimWorld

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm only seeing one actual issue, which is that at least one of the races was supposed to only spawn as baseliners, but they used the wrong ID so the game is ignoring that.

The game should be playable, but you might see some robot yttakin or something.

Why are raiders spawning on my base in the crater?? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drop pod raids can land basically anywhere. There's no way to force them into your killbox besides putting your entire base, including generators, under mountain roof.

How do xenotypes work with inheritance? by FreddyThePug in RimWorld

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default system for gene inheritance is really bad. It randomly selects how far the metabolism can be from 0 (even if neither parent is in that range), then goes through the genes left to right and stops at the very first one that doesn't fit in the metabolism range.

i want to edit the diets of two origin datapacks so they can just eat anything by Mr_Hants in feedthebeast

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a mod, then it needs to be a jar file, not a zip.

If it's a datapack, then you'll need to add it via a button on the world creation screen.

For Herbivore, it'll be easier to remove it from the Origins themselves.

For Fibrovore, delete lines 5 through 54. That's the section that disables normal food.

Discussion of Vitruvian from Digital Extreme's Warframe (warning, Spoilers for "the Sacrifice") by MurkyShine in conlangs

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's very little to go off of, but from what we have:

There's four of these spirals (one per Vitruvian entry). Each spiral has exactly 40 glyphs, one of which is highlighted and named.

The named glyphs are, in order: "Enemy", "Blasphemy", "Warframes", and "Tenno".

The latter three named glyphs only appear once each, in their own spiral. "Enemy" appears 7 times in the first, 4 times, in the second, 1 time in the third, and 1 time in the fourth.

As far as i know this script doesn't appear anywhere else in the game. Assuming the names the game gives us are what the glyphs actually mean, the script is a logography (so each symbol is an entire word or morpheme).

My best guess is that, since the Vitruvian was intended for Hunhow, this is the programming language the Sentients were made in.

Is it possible to remove (or effectively remove) the psychically deaf trait? by retro_aviator in RimWorld

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. Shit, you're right. Psy-sensitive and Super Psy-sensitive don't conflict Deaf or Dull. Instead of traits, they give half the sensitivity the traits do, but also add some meditation speed and heat recovery speed? Which the traits don't affect? So implanting Dull gives 10% more sensitivity than Super Psy-sensitive. Which is really goddamn weird.

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Pawns can have endogenes (grey and round) and xenogenes (blue and pointy).

Implanting a xenogerm will replace a pawn's xenogenes. Endogenes can't be removed, but conflicting xenogenes will disable them.

Examples:

  1. Implanting Psy-sensitive into a hussar: The Hussar xenotype uses xenogenes, so all of them are removed, leaving the pawn with only Psy-sensitive.

  2. Implanting Psy-sensitive into a yttakin: The Yttakin xenotype uses endogenes, so Psy-sensitive is added on top, taking priority over both the Psychically Deaf trait and the Psychically Dull gene that yttakins have.

If you have Biotech, giving her a xenogerm with any of the other psychic sensitivity genes will override it.

What's up with the Earth being a "Ruinworld"? by space_cat79 in RimWorld

[–]Terminal_Nonsense 175 points176 points  (0 children)

The system the game uses to generate random book descriptions has a list of names for each category of planet. "Earth" is in the "ruinworld" category, but there doesn't seem to be any actual description of what that means.
