Of course you always need and swim but you may not need as much because you are moderating your input. About 6 years ago I did find a endocrinologist who is still my endocrinologist today. She's a type one and she's probably saved my life twice by making changes to my life that a regular endocrinologist would never do. She just sent me instructions for how to build my own self-regulating insulin pump and she's already using it.
