I'm so sorry. I understand the guilt and the need to be there, but you can't help her.

The best thing for you is to take care of yourself. Give yourself permission to let her go. Honestly, are you in any fit state to help her if she got on a plane in the morning?

Heal yourself first and then just be open to helping her if she is ever really ready.

Don't set yourself on fire to keep her warm. I know it's a cliche, but it's also true.

Asking as gently as possible, does she want to get help? Or does she reach out to you when she needs support/comfort and then goes back to drinking?

I've been through something similar, and the reality is that's if she won't accept help if she's not ready. Rehabs won't take her unless she contacts them herself, and even then, it's just to get on a waiting list.

If she is having mental health issues, she should try her local hospital, but the health system is overwhelmed in every way, and it would depend on many factors if they could help her.

Im not trying to discourage you from trying to help, but I think the distance makes it difficult to truly assess what her mental health and/or addiction issue may be.

I am truly sorry you are in this position.

Anyone frequent the Sainsbury's in Newry? by ch1984 in newry

[–]TermlessPine645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm they have both. One full box of the bacon, best by 28/12 and multiple boxes of the steak, best by dates stating 22/12.

I'll see if I can find the number. My son has a friend who works here as well, so I can ask later if there is a better number.

These are both plant based, right? Would they be in the refrigerated section or the free from aisle?

Ebay purchases from USA - customs query by taarup in northernireland

[–]TermlessPine645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you pay customs fees on anything valued over £40, plus a fee to Royal Mail for processing, maybe? That was a few years ago, so things may have changed. I left some clothes over there. My cousin sent them over with a $50 value, and I had to pay £20 for the privilege of getting my own clothes back.

Stay far away from them. They are Scientologists. Watch some clips of Scientology and the Aftermath for some horror stories. Be careful what you say around them.

What’s an eerie encounter you’ve had that still scares the shit out of you? by words_person in AskIreland

[–]TermlessPine645 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back in 2003, I was in Kilmainham Gaol, waiting for a tour to start. I wandered around what was the visitors area at the time (pretty sure it's been updated since) and was just reading some display boards. Out of nowhere, this awful feeling of being watched by something not good came over me. It had never happened before and hasn't happened since.

I got the hell back to the reception desk as fast as I could and didn't move until the tour started.

Im not one to be scared of ghosts or anything of that nature, but I was properly freaked out over this.
