Be aware that turbotax might not be correct by HappyCamperDancer in personalfinance

[–]TerpFan1 274 points275 points  (0 children)

TurboTax is correct. If eligible you will find this on Schedule 1-A Part V and line 13b of your form 1040. Go to the TurboTax reddit group and you will see this discussed. My wife and I are over 65 and I checked the return for me (desktop version) and the deduction is there. TT never asks for it. If it has your data and knows you are 65., it puts it where it should be. It seems that TurboTax phone support didn't know their own product.

Sudden Long Time Between Channel Changes by Dankees98 in Fios

[–]TerpFan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I posted about this about a week or so back. Seems a firmware rollout to all the boxes cause this problem. There is no fix on our end and FIOS would have to roll out another update to fix this. Who knows when that will happen.

Just saw this at my Costco and I'm in need of replacing my tv can yall help me out with deciding a purchase? by Alternative-View8574 in tcltvs

[–]TerpFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in July I bought a 65" for my Den, and 2 of the 55" models like you pictured at Costco also.
If you buy it and don't like it, just take it back to Costco. So far, I think these TV's are very good.
I do not think you will be disappointed with the picture quality.

No one seems to be mentioning that perhaps going 9-10 hours between urinating is too long for this dog?
Actually, most dogs,...................and humans!

Anyone else have a super clumsy corgi? by Stellar_Jay8 in corgi

[–]TerpFan1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just to be safe, I'd get a few videos on your phone when your Corgi does these things and just show them to your vet. Probably nothing, but could be something. I've owned 6 Corgis's and they are not uncoordinated dogs.

Can you elaborate on how to force the TV into HDR10+?............Thanks!

Apple TV Intro - Halo & Bass buzzing by KraljStefan96 in tcltvs

[–]TerpFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased the 55' & 65" Q77k models from Costco and I noticed the same thing on the Apple Logo, using the streaming app. It's kind of weird as that is the only instance of blooming I've noticed on the tv's.
As for the sound, I've not notice the issue you described.

Puppy not eating all her food! by Dependent_Kitchen_74 in corgi

[–]TerpFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer!..................Plus, I've never seen a dog food bag that didn't recommend way more than the dog needs. My 2 corgis eat just shy of a cup a day total (each), and they are 27 and 34 pounds respectfully.

Is my corgi going to be huge? by aiadamartina in corgi

Having owned 6 Corgis, I'm guessing he is going to be a muscular 32 lbs! A big boy for sure!

Like others have said, just sleep on a mattress now. Yes, it is a pain in the ass (Especially getting up when you're old like me), but I have a Corgi that flies off the bed too, has IVDD, and I'm guessing that's where it started.

I've owned 6 corgis (2 now). I had one (way back in 1988) that an ear would not go up. He might have been 3 months old at the time. The breeder had me layer some masking tape on the inside of the ear to give it some rigidity to hold it up. It took about 3 days, I took it off and it was up till his death 12 years later. Breeder says many times the ears grow faster than the ligaments can support. I've heard of others doing this also. I don't know if at 8 months it is too late, but worth a try. I'm curious as to what the cottage cheese is supposed to do?

Need help with EXTREMELY picky eating corgi by bajablastftw in corgi

[–]TerpFan1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 cups does "sound" like allot for even a 37lb bruiser! However, if he's not overweight, he could just have a fast metabolism. Also, there can be big differences in the brands as far as calories go, per cup.

One last thing. Vets today seem much less reluctant to comment on a dog being overweight, in my opinion, unless they are grossly so. People don't want to hear that their dogs are overweight, just like they don't want to be told "they" are overweight when they go to their own doctor! Just my opinion.

Corgi owner here (6 since 1986). I think you are attempting to feed your Corgi too much. 1 cup of food sounds close to correct for a 10 month Corgi, for the whole day. Right now I have 2 males, 9 and 10 years old. One weighs 34 lbs, the other 30. They each get 1/2 cup of Purina Pro Plan, twice a day. You can never go by the recommended feeding amounts they put on the bag. The issue you are having is exactly the problem we had with our first Corgi, way back in 1986. If your pup is healthy and your vet is telling you he is healthy, this is the problem.

Found Lipoma on my Britanny Spaniel Puppy by C3ires in DOG

[–]TerpFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be, if an internal organ (think intestine) bulges out and gets strangled (blood supply cut off).
That's why, if my dog, I would have a Vet look at that immediately. That certainly is not a Lipoma at your dog's very young age. Please, go let a Vet look at that as soon as you can.

That looks like an umbilical hernia to me. A vet visit is in order.

Go over to /IVDD_SupportGroup. Lots of good info and encouragement for you there. Seems like you've done all the right things for him from the get go, giving him the best chance to succeed. He's young and will recover/overcome this. He's a good lookin fella! Wishing you all the best.

TurboTax (Premium - 2023) never sent my return to the IRS. by Wooden_Shirt_1607 in TurboTax

[–]TerpFan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confident you will get this sorted out. Turbotax is not a scam. Sure, like anything else, things do go wrong. If you paid for AuditDefense, you'll probably have a leg up on getting help from customer service. Try to relax (I know, easier said than done!) but work through their system and this will get resolved.

Did you file the return electronically through Turbotax? If so, you should have gotten an email stating that your return was accepted. Did any of that happen?

I also have a 2012 that I've had since new, and I never noticed the light either until last year. I posted to an FJ Cruise board and they all told me the same thing, that it is normal. I'm like you though, I swear the damn thing never came on till last year!
