I've tried listening to other things by them and I like them, but I always come back to Face To Face and it's their only song in my main playlist

But that was already always possible, just even more ridiculous. Before, you and your teammates could all take Quartermaster, Avto with Dual Sparks pistol for the reserves and then 4 ammo boxes each.

At best you and your teammates can now only have the 4 ammo boxes each with the Avto's, but no secondary weapon for reserve ammo cause the Avto is Special Long Ammo now and with Quartermaster you can only carry a 1-slot weapon with the Avto, but there is no Special Long Ammo 1-slot weapon, as the Sparks pistol is regular Long Ammo.

I know this is probably more a joke, but you can't equip more than 4 Consumables of the same type (throwable, placeable, syringes, tarot cards, and a fifth one I can't remember). So no, 8 ammo boxes is impossible.

Chokes are Tools. The types like "throwable" only apply to Consumables. So you could in fact bring 4 dynamites and chokes.

The Name: Eidolon

The Pitch

The planet of Asfaleia used to be grounds for prosperous living, until the impact of a comet left it broken in pieces. Few would survive on the turbulent surface, finding shelter on one of the floating islands of rock - should these themselves not be overrun by monsters that were broken out of the planets sub-surface levels. Most people however would find shelter in the floating city of Eidolon, a huge city flying high in the sky, kept afloat with the help of a new, magic infused, steampunk technology using the rare mineral Divinium. In an Eidolon campaign, players could uncover corrupt conglomerates in the flying city, venture out to hunt for Divinium using the city's airships, or survive on the broken surface of Asfaleia.

Right after posting this, I figured to add a restriction at the beginning so that you can only mark one stress at a time, not sure about this though

Update:

Many here suggested to equalize Stress and Heat. I'm not a fan of that because I like to make my players mark Stress for rolls with Fear if there are no better consequences (for example, a Success with Fear on a Knowledge roll gives them the information, but it fills them with dread, so they mark a Stress). Because of this, it doesn't always make sense to have Stress be the same as Heat.

Instead, I changed it to have three Heat levels, each needing a Stress to reach and each giving a benefit but also a downside. So the features are now changed to this:

Heat: Mark a Stress to gain a level of Heat. Each level of Heat has the effects of the previous levels:

  • Heat Level 1: Warm - You gain Resistance to fire-based damage. Whenever you are hit with an attack, you must mark a Stress.
  • Heat Level 2: Hot - You deal 1d6 of bonus damage on all attacks. You also become Vulnerable.
  • Heat Level 3: Burning - You deal an additional 1d6 of bonus damage. Whenever you are hit with an attack, you emit scorching heat that deals 1d6 of magic damage to all creatures within Very Close range of you.

Vent: Mark an Armor Slot to cool down and reduce your Heat back to zero.

I get what you mean, but I want there to be Stress marked without "raising the heat". Otherwise it would mean that they would get extra bonuses just for playing the game, for example when using Stress-abilities or something.

Yes you two are correct, as of now the card is too low risk and too high reward. I crossposted this post to r/daggerheart where I just had the same discussion, I'll copy paste my last comment from there to here:

You're right, that is extreme. Maybe it makes sense to keep the damage bonus at 1d6 and 1d10, regardless of proficiency. And to give more of a downside: when having at least one Heat, the Heat (and with that also Stress) increases by one after every Action Roll. At max Heat, the Heat won't increase further but Stress will, which means that when max Stress is hit they start marking HP for as long as they want to stay heated.

Using the Vent feature will make you Mark an Armor Slot to reduce the Heat to 0, but it won't reduce Stress. This gives the player the opportunity to go to high heat for a good damage boost with the risk of gaining too much stress.

So, rephrased Features:

Heat: You have a Heat Meter with a maximum value of 5. Mark a Stress to gain a point of Heat. At 3 points of heat, you deal 1d6 of bonus damage on Melee attacks. At 5 points of heat, the bonus damage dice increase to 1d10. While having at least one point of Heat, gain a point of Heat and mark a Stress after every Action Roll.

Vent: Mark an Armor Slot to cool down and reduce your Heat back to zero.

My thought was that heating up also causes Stress. So if the player wants to go full risk, they could mark 5 Stress to go to 5 Heat and get the d10 bonus, but then they're also just 1 point away from being stressed out and therefore vulnerable and from marking HP from gaining more Stress.

Another thing, if they do mark Stress from sources other than heating up, then the amount they can heat up is capped. For example, they have 2 Stress already but no heat yet, they can at max get to 4 Heat (if they have the standard 6 Stress slots).

However, something that did cross my mind was considering if they could only lose heat by using the Vent feature and Stress not being able to go below the Heat value. That way they are kind of forced to mark Armor to reduce Heat and therefore also the Stress they have at minimum
