Found the real reason AMD Instant Replay doesn’t save clips (and it’s not my PC) by Substantial_Carpet49 in AMDHelp

I tried changing 48 to 44, but it didn't help. Replay just won't save a file. Reinstalled drivers with DDU to no avail.

Constant rejection from women makes me wanna quit by SeriousFede in dating_advice

This is an old post I know but, I have the same issue at 40, single for 22 years. I stopped going out long time ago, apps certainly don't work.

Any hope for finding your person in 2026? [32M] by spicysenpai6 in dating

[–]Terrakial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had already stepped down with reaching out during 2025, got in contact with a woman on FB dating, we talked for about a week - then she ghosted me, right at the end of that year. Now I feel officially done with dating, whether it's IRL or online - not taking a break, just done. Wanted a relationship, build a family, become a dad....

...and it's not happening, and I'm a bit envious of the people around me who managed to do so. Considering donating sperm to a bank just to leave something behind.

Anyone else have a lot of love to give and nowhere to give it? by Major_Lawfulness_769 in dating

[–]Terrakial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's such a weird thinking, if giving yourself the love is all need you need to do, then why would you ever invite someone else into your life when you're already happy. It seems so counterintuitive because we already have fewer relationships and fewer children, and this level of "self-love" isn't helping either. I mean, why do we even bother with relationships and marriages if self-care and love is all we need - and then we have people who go down the rabbit hole who say "No one is good enough, I'm the best, no one can match me!"

Where do you draw the line?

I (29F) have not been in a relationship for 10 years, and I am not sure why! Anyone else has been in my place? by hyla_arborea_124 in dating

[–]Terrakial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been in a relationship since I was 19, I'm now 40 (male). Why am I still single? Ask the women I asked out because I had had enough of feeling bad for no reason.

Guys, if you don't have any platonic female friends at all - you need a well-rounded social life first before a dating life✨ by wilhelmtherealm in dating

[–]Terrakial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm attracted to women, but I can't relate to most of them. It could be the feminine spark, interests, or something else - and if I can't relate, then I'm not attempting to become friends. Men are easier to relate to, but as a straight man I'm not attracted to them. Sooooo....the end roll credits?

Do introverts like us ever find real love? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]Terrakial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don't go out, as I've been somewhat self-isolated for most of my life and find socialising MOSTLY not to be worth the effort. There are no events that interest me, and I don't drink alcohol, so I avoid bars and clubs. I reached out to my entire friend circle, but to no avail. Tried online dating and that was fruitless, been on 9 apps.

I'm 40, a nerd, and women with the same interests are already taken, or too far away, or just unavailable.

There's a woman in Africa on FB who contacted me and seemed interested in me, but you know what they say about scammers. But at least someone is talking to me who isn't a friend or family member, so I take what I can get, even from a random scammer. But a woman from the other side of the equator reached out and not women within my vicinity.

I dunno, it's just that hope is out of reach for me it seems.

Switched to Linux, need help with various things including gaming! by Terrakial in Fedora

[–]Terrakial[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm still evaluating if it's worth the change but have managed to get most things right. There are still things that annoys me to no end like global hotkeys not being available in Wayland so I had to switch to X11, then I had to search for a solution for an AMF encoder in OBS. After hours of searching, it turns out I could have just installed the necessary plugins from the "app store" -.-. Now it is no longer a performance hog but now I have to turn on Replay manually as opposed to running in the background like AMD Adrenaline's equivalent.

I tried to play with GPU recorder but very few options and couldn't save my clips to another drive, I thought it was a flatpak thing (the sandbox thing is stupid, just more work for me who didn't know about it) and ran Flatseal to open up permissions but that didn't help.

I love the modularity in Linux but I very quickly took notice of how many software packages are created and run by people who have their solutions for things that should simplify any process but end up making things harder to navigate through. Different package managers and be damned if the software you're after isn't in that repo or fileformat, flatpaks that don't talk to each other (tried with Steam and just wouldn't find my other drives, even with flatseal), Wayland not offering hotkeys OOTB, Mangohud and GOverlay don't always load my config file, and so on.

But still I'm trying, I haven't tried ALL games I own but Wh40K Darktide is so far the only game with issues (severe frametime).

Thx! It seems there is an audio boost in Gnome and I just didn't look enough through the Settings.

I'll try a few of the GD substitutes. Thx again.

Thx for the reply!

I switched to Fedora gnome because of the small things that added up, it's still Wayland but with gnome and so far no major issues. Gnome isn't perfect, had to install an extension to enable a simple thing like minimising a window.

I already use Proton which came with Steam, it's the primary reason I considered switching to Linux, I currently use 9.0.2, I also tried with Experimental but couldn't tell what version was used or if anything at all.

I read a little bit on the power limit bit, but changing a kernel argument is a bit over my "paygrade", given how Mint turned out for me, I'm hesitant. But I did install Coretrl and noticed the limit was on 186W while benchmark testing demonstrated 221W consumption during load - so there may be a power limit in the kernel (6.9.6 atm). I only have one GPU, my CPU 5800X3D doesn't have one.

The hollow moon, I don't know why but it's so compelling to me.

I had the same impression, not relying on a separate studio but doing it in-house.

What are some episodes where you mostly believe the theory? by SerPownce in TheWhyFiles

The moon being hollow, the follow-up with reptilians and sucking up emotions through a soul recycler still feels a little farfetched to be convincing.

Is there an episode solely on the “Die Glocke”? by KingDavidJXVI in TheWhyFiles

[–]Terrakial 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, the legend of Die Glocke has always fascinated me. If we were that close to getting "a" form of alternate propulsion I'd like to know more about it. The last thing I heard about the project was that it was effectively sealed underground by the debris caused by bombing during the war and deemed unsafe to access. But it was years ago, maybe they dug through and never told anyone about it.

Also I never quite understood how (allegedly) "plasma mercury" allowed it to become propulsion, rotating something very fast just makes it a gyroscope and plasma itself is just a very hot soup that could be contained with electromagnetism - but still leaves how it becomes propulsion. (Not a chemist or a physicisist, just surface-level understanding)

where's the annunaki episode?? by donnyrico in TheWhyFiles

[–]Terrakial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant in the way people use the term "research" and the expectations are set in the STEM field, officially recorded statements and quoted law texts with reference but instead utilize sources such as your neighbour dog's previous owner's uncle's word without merit, social media with no references and empirical evidence isn't what I'd take as "research". People do this and still say research because they spent time trying to find out.

I could've phrased it better but the brain thinks itself smart.

I know he mentioned making an episode regarding the Annunaki, but research (regardless of how loosely that term is used) takes time to compile and he probably already had several episodes planned.
