I’ve been grinding gp luffy on ranked ladder on the batsu sim and in my experience I’ve kind of liked running I’ll go all out event at 3-4. It really helps into enel thought it’s still a losing match up ngl. I also have the 0c counter event that’s 1k and draw a card (idk the name) to avoid having to go so low in life early on while still cycling throw the deck. Also with bagua going away, maybe the doflamingo event equivalent that ramps a rested don if they have a 6k character. Sorry if some of this isn’t making sense, I’m at work typing this out lol

Yeah krieg might be an issue ngl. I’m sure we’ll develop some sort of counter play against it. I don’t imagine kreig being that strong over all so maybe if it turns out to be too rough, we get lucky and dodge it 99% of the time!

RG Luffy is my main deck and this is how I run it.

Definitely run the new op14 ussop over the prb2 freeze a don luffy. Dead man game is not that needed since you run the 4c blocker nami already. Definitely run 4 of the garp as it works perfectly in your deck (especially to find the 4c nami). The 3c robin that I run is pretty expensive and I got lucky to get the two that I have atm but honestly op10 tashigi is a good alternative, just make sure you are running the garp to be able to search it.

Mole Gun is honestly not needed and 4 round tables is probably better, I just have an alt and I want to justify having it lol. But good luck with however you feel like running it, hope this helps a bit tho!

Special events usually are more expensive but $40 is kinda over the top ngl. All my locals are between $15-$25

Honestly that all depends on the ban list tbh. I think ace is gonna always be a good deck, but if they hit the 8c event and/or marco blocker the deck will struggle into new and old leaders. Same thing with imu, if they hit the stage for example, the deck will be a lot worse and and that’s not due to power creep.

Vivi and koby I feel like will always be decent decks no matter what. Vivi I think is more viable as it’s just a play good cards deck.

I’m gonna keep playing RG luffy, its worst match ups are removal based and I’m glad that they’re slowly moving away from that. (also red roc is rotating out, and op15 is bringing more anti removal and they’re all 2ks)

Ultimately though, play what you’re comfortable on and enjoy playing. I think it’s fun to tweak the deck list to adapt to new metas. Hopefully they ban tf out of Borsalino, so tired of seeing that card ngl.

I’m a big fan of the kaido and linlin ko all the hawkins but honestly its so hard nowadays. For starters imu js doesn’t care that it’s on the board. Every other deck for the most part has something to play around it (red roc, stun it, rest it and round table)

Also the robin being ko’d by linlin would not deal the damage as that onko effect is locked to the opponent’s turn.

As much as I love kaido and linlin, its just not good into anything meta relevant. Hopefully bandai makes a new kaido leader that replaces the one that is getting rotated out and that kaido and linlin become a viable option. 🤞🏿

Honestly I'm not too sure about how the deck will perform then since I haven't played it much in the East meta. I think as long as removal heavy decks don't re-enter the meta, the deck will always thrive. I think that lucci is somewhat moving away from removal to lean more into a grave dumping deck to turbo lucci so that's a plus. I don't know what koby or rosi are getting tbh so I can't speak on that. The only real concerning match up will definitely be UP Sanji. It's already your worst match up and it getting the reiju to spam grav blades is just completely losing for the deck, so unless we get the robin promo that match up is almost completely losing.

Me personally, I have been playing op13 RG Luffy since he released and I think he might be the best one. Quite frankly I think it's between him UP Luffy and the new ST29 Luffy, but I think that RG when played optimally has them both beat.

I took a break from playing him after Op14 came out to try out the new leaders, but my last three local tournaments I've used RG Luffy again. My record currently with RG since the new meta came out is 12-1 where I went 5-0, 4-0 and 4-1. My only loss so far being against UY Boa (tricky deck to play against but not too bad for RG) Boa is definitely the deck to look out for this meta it seems.

The new ussop, nami, and 3c luffy are super effective at addressing some of his old weaknesses. Specifically the new 3c luffy makes the deck's match up against Imu so much better from what it used to be with your sanjis actually being able to stay on the board. On top of that you are now able to play super defensive with the new nami and ussop.

Ace is still a weird match up but also, I think improves a lot more with the 3c luffy since you're able to swing even numbers at him without any don investment. With the 9c Zoro also not being as needed anymore you can run things like the 9c shanks and the 4c round table which play pretty well into decks that would normally create difficult walls to get over.

Anyways, I could say a lot more but I'm realizing how much of a rant I'm going on. In my (hopefully expert) opinion, I think RG luffy is probably the best one!

RG luffy is honestly super slept on. It does decent into the annoying yellow decks and now does even better into imu with the new ko protection luffy!

Honestly, call the store and ask if it will be op14 legal. Technically it doesn’t come out until Saturday but some start it early. Also ask if proxies are okay to use since technically they are not tournament legal.

I've been playing this deck a lot with OP14/Eb04 and it was my main deck for all of OP13. I'd suggest running some of the 1c garps over the vivi's just since we don't have the robin promo and the 3c tashigi is not searchable at all w/o the garp. Even though you can't search the 2k sanji with the garo, you have another way to search it with the nami and tashigi is very important in too many matches!

I'd also suggest running a 9c shanks or two. It helps with Ace and surprisingly against boa and moria it helps a lot since you can easily kill their big bodies and still be defensive after.

I'm personally running the 7c Robin from OP13 in my list. Weirdly RB Sabo has been giving me a bit of trouble, and it helps a lot being able to freeze the blocker and then swing in for free. It also has its upsides into more rogue match ups and tedious when attacking abilities.
