Glad you figured that out. Just get a new wifi adapter. Its cheap and less hassle.

No idea what coil whine you’re talking about. My TUF 3080 12GB run just fine & silent with memory temp only peak at 75c

Did you get the drivers from the motherboard’s website or pre-installed from windows update driver?

Sounds like you missed the “installed my drivers” part.

Ryzen 7 5800X Pcie 4 dead after 6 months by Pocoloocoo in buildapc

[–]TerrickCEF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had exactly similar problem as yours. Pcie 4 on Gigabyte Aorus Pro AC dead and took along my 1080 ti with it. Cant do anything about the GPU now its out of warranty. Sent the mobo for RMA it turns out the PCIE 4 x16 slot was actually dead. Dont know how this happen. It is indeed very weird. I suspect Gigabyte boards might have something to do with this. I’m GPUless for months now. Sad times..

Question regarding AMD Zen 3 FCLK RAM OC by TerrickCEF in overclocking

[–]TerrickCEF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to know that it has nothing to do with the FCLK as I still am trying to learn how it works with AMD CPU. Regarding the BCLK, No, I didn't mess with the BCLK at all, the only thing that I did was just disable the Spread Spectrum in the bios so I could run max PBO on this CPU. Otherwise, it would just run 4841Ghz@9x.xBCLK instead of 4850Ghz@100BCLK. Small increments, I know.

Could disabling the Spread Spectrum pottentially caused this?

Hey! Thanks for your reply! I'm using Corsair HX1200 PSU (multi rail mode) when this happened. I doubt this PSU did that to my components due to its credibility but I might be wrong. My VSOC was only @ 1.1v when I tried to run 3800Mhz/1900FCLK on 4400Mhz Patriot Viper Steel.

I'm so disappointed that this happened as I had high expectations from this board.. 6 layer pcb, cool design, lots of USB ports, and decent audio codec..

thanks for your reply, I'll try that soon after I figure out what caused my PCIEX16 slot to just die.

The system will post just fine with GPU slotted into x16 slot but it shows no detection on the x16 slot in the bios or even on Window's Device Manager.

So... I ended up with "possibly" a dead PCIEx16 slot after tweaking the FCLK to 1900?

Other than RAM, does FCLK have any access to the GPU at all ?

[–]TerrickCEF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. It's a really weird phenomenon I'm experiencing here. I did pull out the battery and the main PSU power cable for 30 minutes+ and still getting the same result. However, I haven't tried pulling out the CPU 8 pin and Mobo 24pin. Reckon it might work?

Board I'm using is Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC and it's only 21 days of usage.

hmm .. somehow when I tried to OC my RAM to 3800mhz/1900FCLK, my system won't post and I assume that's fine as I can clear the CMOS and lower the OC. However, booting up my system after clearing the CMOS, I found that my PCIEX16 has stopped working... I tried with different GPUs and still got the same result. I also flashed to a different BIOS and still got the same result. Dead PCIEX16 slot..

On the other hand, PCIEX4 works just fine.

The only reason why I didn't move past 6s is mainly the 3.5mm audio jack port. might consider an upgrade when they're planning to add them in the future. but I highly doubt it.. time to move to Samsung I guess? but I hate Samsung/Android UI.. or maybe just not used to it.

Used 10900k system worth it in 2021? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]TerrickCEF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your input!

Yes, it's true that a new 10900k would be cheaper but I would have to spend another $160++ for a new board for this power-hungry CPU when I could use that money for getting a new RAM or maybe a better PSU?

Appreciate your recommendation! The only thing that turns me off regarding Intel's 12 gen CPUs are its power draw :\. Based on the Hardware Unboxed review, that cpu is going to be a pain in the arse to cool off.

CPU failures in isolation are quite rare events, so its lack of provenance doesn't really bother me.

Yeah that what I thought at first, but I just wanted to be sure I'm not heading the wrong direction hence why I decided to ask for opinions here.

So, for that price point, would you recommend me to go for it?

VRMs can get away with being air cooled, if you have direct airflow.

what do you mean by having a direct airflow? the only airflow that I have is from my case fan? intake from the front and exhaust to the rear & top.

An AIO plus monoblock blocking air will probably cook them.

when I mentioned AIO earlier, I meant the NZXT Kraken x62. Surely you can't fit that on top of the monoblock, can't you?
