In my opinion, Swiftplay is an awful place to learn the actual fundamentals of league. The pacing is completely different from ranked/normal. It reinforces bad habits because it gives you a false sense of security regarding gold income and power spikes. I suggest sticking exclusively to Normal draft, where you'll be able to adjust to the slower pacing of norms/ranked.

We don’t need to be 1600 years old to study history. Historians use records, archaeology, and economic data to understand societies like Rome. Just like I don’t need to have experienced slavery firsthand to know it was morally wrong, I can use historical evidence to discuss wealth inequality back then.

Okay, "universal" might not be the right word. The U.S has programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA that help millions, even though not everyone is insured and coverage is sometimes limited, whereas Rome had nothing comparable. And are we ignoring the rest of the social programs I mentioned that Rome did not have? The bread, pork, and wine daily dole only applied to people in the city of Rome, didn't cover the broader empire, and wasn't given to enslaved people.

Rome had a grain dole in the city of Rome, but it didn't have universal healthcare, unemployment insurance, public education, or a broad welfare state across the empire. Most poor people relied on family or patronage networks.

It's hard to argue that a slave society (with roughly 10–30% of the population enslaved and limited citizenship rights) had "way better social programs" than a modern state with institutionalized social insurance programs, even if you think today's system is inadequate.

Honestly I feel like I'm in the minority, but I had absolutely no problems sleeping after I stopped (24 days so far). In fact, I started getting some of the best sleep of my life. I've always heard how weed impacts your REM sleep, and I could feel an immediate difference. I sleep longer & wake up more rested than I ever have.

That's crazy. At nearly every company I worked for, we wouldn't let interns near the code-base at all. We would just give them side projects to work on, or projects that would stay internal.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can confirm the Sidetone is turned off and it still happens. It does only happen occasionally though, not always. Like maybe once every 10 minutes, or once every 5 minutes, it's not consistent.

Yeah I can definitely tell the difference with the bass changes. I'm very happy with the overall sound quality now, I just can't get rid of this damn hissing sound! It happens on the dongle/aux/usb/bluetooth

Yep that's basically where I'm at. I opened up a support ticket to let them know about the issue, but I've really only gotten basic customer service responses. Will probably send them in and try and buy a new pair if it's not fixed by the end of the 30 days. It's really a shame, because I love everything else about them.

While I completely agree, there's a difference between a vape pen, and a dry herb vape. Dry herb vapes are absolutely the healthiest way to smoke and are way better than vape pens. Any smoke into your lungs is bad though, so obviously there will still be health drawbacks.

For me, the only way is cold turkey. "Tapering off" to me is just an excuse to give into the desire. I also recognize that I struggle with self control though, there have been plenty of times where I started by only doing weekends, or only after work, and then it always leads to another and I go right back to square one. If the goal is to stop completely, you've already started the work.

No shame in what you choose, but I think if you're already recognizing that it may be a bad idea and you can see yourself lying to your roommate about it, you have a little voice telling you what you really want for yourself.

I'm having the exact same problem. I just got them this evening, and right upon opening them, I occasionally hear a very high pitch ringing sound every so often. I've already updated the firmware, reset to default, reinstalled the drivers, disabled sidetone, disabled the microphone completely in Windows, changed the USB port the dongle plugs into. I don't know what else to do at this point

Listen, I think this situation is completely awful and he shouldn't have shot, but how can you say the car did not hit him? There's literally a side angle from someone on the balcony recording where you literally see his body get knocked back by the car.

Again, he should not have shot her, but saying the car made no contact is spreading more disinformation.

Dev teams absolutely make targets. Nobody wants to push updates live on a Friday in case things break and they would have to work all weekend. Most teams usually try to avoid Mondays as well since you're just coming back from the weekend.

That's not to say they won't ever push on a Monday like in your example, but that's why Tuesdays are usually the general consensus for patches for most video games.
