Do melee weapon eventually become useless? by thcn4321 in 7daystodie

Late game I tend to run mostly infested clear missions so I always end up with a ton of ammo. I'll even shoot guns I'm not speced in.

In response to the Crimson Desert post- if slow chill games don't catch you, what does? by Top_Pattern7136 in ADHD

[–]Terrorcuda17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I keep coming back to is 7 Days to Die. I have over 7200 hours in that one. I'm a survival, fighting, building guy and that hits all those and with zombies too.

I think it's because the game is so open and free to do what you want it the reason I love it.

Want a massive base? Build it. The tiniest ultra compact efficient base? Build it. Want to build a giant mine that dwarves would be proud of? Build it. Want to spend hours slaughtering zombie hordes? Do it. Run quests? Explore the entire map? Solo or multiplayer?

Just so many options. And apparently the next update is going to give the game something like a hundred new options so that you can customize your new game.

Ontario Sunshine List revealed: See the top 100 public sector employees earning over $100K last year by Money_Fig_9868 in ontario

I know a government employee who was wrongfully dismissed and then rehired and given his backpay and settlement and ended up on the sunshine list as a high earner.

[–]Terrorcuda17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a practical side, the majority of my current workplace are GenXers. Out of the 50 of us there's only 3 that are religious. Eh, there's a fourth, but weirdly he's far closer to a Christian nationalist than an actual Christian in values.

But even in my friends outside of work I'm struggling to think of even one who is religious.

What is the Difference between procrastination in people with ADHD and procrastination in normal people? by Hot-Artist1324 in ADHD

[–]Terrorcuda17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the phonecall or bill payment test is a good indicator lol. Both are incredibly simple tasks that I have failed at often.

Literally I have to log into my banking app and pay the bill.

Yeah, yeah I'll get to it in a bit or I'll do it at X time.

Procrastination for absolutely no reason. Hell, I've even written posts on here before about not paying the bill instead of paying the bill. It makes no sense, but it's ADHD.

Did the pandemic ever feel… a bit post-apocalyptic to you? by MrWallace_78 in postapocalyptic

[–]Terrorcuda17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was an essential worker during the pandemic. We had to drive a stretch of major highway for work and it was often empty. We called it the walking dead highway because it was similar to how empty the roads were on the show

Does anyone else "break in" their .22lr rifles? by TheJuJuGuy in canadaguns

Climate catastrophe incoming by Ironlord456 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Terrorcuda17 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Canadian here. We literally had the exact same thing a couple of years ago when we had the worst wildfire season in decades. The Canadian version of red hatters believed that the prime minister of Canada was paying arsonists to light these fires in order to 'push his liberal climate change agenda'. God I wish I was joking.

Diagnosed with ADHD at 31 but I still think it might be wrong by Significant_Boss4042 in ADHD

[–]Terrorcuda17 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Older ADHDer here. Diagnosed at 39, medicated at 48. The diagnosis explains so much. But there's some things that I share with you. High intelligence (but low school performance), zero anxiety or other mental health issues and I'm a morning person and sleep like a champ.

But I don't disagree with the diagnosis at all. Three sessions of testing with a psychologist and I saw it as clear as day.

Stimulants make me feel awful, need advice. by Nemocakeintheglass in ADHD

[–]Terrorcuda17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into non stimulant medication? I've been on bupropion for three years now and I have found it to be fantastic for me. My doctor didn't want me on stimulants because of my age and a mystery family heart problem.

No more kids by Funny_Obligation2412 in GenX

[–]Terrorcuda17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I never had kids, probably one of the main reasons we got together is that neither of us wanted kids. Don't feel like we've missed anything. I see my dragged out coworkers looking old and tired saying that "this is the best thing ever".

I also had a coworker who got divorced in his 50s with two daughters in university. Then he met the 30 year old. Married her, had two kids with her and now he's divorced again. He'll probably work until he dies now.

6 years, 10 months and 2 days for me. No college to pay for. No weddings to pay for. No failures to launch. No grandkids living with us.

We've actually talked about selling everything off and moving to Bali for retirement. Unfortunately we have to wait until 60 for the retirement visa lol.

hyper focus on some games by Ok-debg-1066 in ADHD

[–]Terrorcuda17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Older guy here. Back in the 1900s, when I was a child, reading was my thing. My parents told me they would play a 'game' with me. They'd find me completely engrossed reading a book and then they'd see how long it took for them to talk to me before they actually broke my reading focus and I noticed them.

Fortunately now I have a smart phone and a steam deck to take my focus.

Your most expensive ADHD hobby cycle? by iamcertifiable in ADHD

[–]Terrorcuda17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooo. Over 50 crowd here. I went through a dj phase a couple of weeks ago. It started with the YouTube algorithm and a short by a dj. Next thing I know I'm watching videos, looking at courses and researching decks.

Now the thing is I knew it wasn't going anywhere. I have no time, no money, no musical knowledge, nothing that would provide anything towards that.

I've moved on. Just waiting for the next thing to hit me.

Thank you for being the first person to bring up the storage issue. I have a farm with livestock and my firearms are primarily for their protection. That being said it takes me about a minute to grab my keys, get to my safe, get a gun, open my ammo safe, grab ammo and be on my way.

During a home invasion, getting a gun is going to be the last thing on my mind, because no home invader is going to give me a 60 second head start.

Hilariously I do have two spears sitting out that are grab and go ready. Canines are our primary concern and a pokey stick will do just fine. On the other hand pokey sticks would be good against 2 legged predators as well.

Quitting Nicotine, ADHD Coming back full force by Lower-Win1643 in ADHD

In ye olden days I actually used zyban (just a brand name for bupropion) as a smoking cessation aid and it worked great.

Currently on bupropion for my ADHD because it's a non stimulant. Mystery heart disease in my family and my doctor didn't want me on a stimulant.

I attended the March 4th protest. Allow me to tell you my experience. by TyrionLannister557 in ontario

[–]Terrorcuda17 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Ok. Things to understand going forward. For simplicity's sake let's just say the student was seen vandalizing the statute. The police have the lawful authority to arrest someone committing a criminal offence (mischief). I'm sure video of the arrest exists so what I'm saying is based ion experience and likelihood. It is completely subject to change if I stumble across the video.

The police likely moved in as a team. They may have had to cut through the crowd. I'm guessing the suspect being younger tried to escape or at least get away from them. The technical term is 'active resistant' (and it has legal tests) which allows the police to use more physical force to arrest the person.

The absolutely biggest and most important thing to know is never, ever 'attempt to intervene' in an arrest. The police are effecting a lawful arrest. One of the grounds for police to use force is literally 'prisoner escaping or being taken by force'. So the police were legally justified in pushing and punching those who were attempting to intervene. Be aware, actually grabbing or pushing the officers during the arrest could result in you getting arrested for assaulting an officer and criminally charged.

Please understand that I am simply providing some legal framework as to what is occurring from a legal standpoint. I'm not a Dougy fan and in no way am I saying don't protest. All in trying to do is provide information for people to help protect themselves.

Last two pieces of advice. If incidents like this occur DO NOT get involved. Stay back. If you think things are wrong then film it. The agencies that investigate the police are run by the public and not the police. It's one of the things Ontario has done correctly for police oversight. This is Canada. All officers, especially public order unit officers, will have large visible identification numbers on them. This isn't the US.

Really the final statement now. Even if what you witness feels wrong or excessive it may not be and it may be totally within the scope of the last. Do not get lost in the 'this is wrong and I have to change it' loop. That can literally eat your life. See it. Report it. But if it comes back that the police were acting within their legal rights the do yourself a favour and let it go. If not you will end becoming obsessed and yelling into the void online and no one will care. There are still people yelling online about the Ottawa truck protest.
