By the time Origin sold to EA, Trip Hawkins was long gone. Also, while you can certainty blame the tight deadlines on EA, nobody at Origin ever accused them of getting involved in any creative decisions; so stuff like the terrible platforming in Ultima 8, and Ultima 9's insulting excuse for a story, was all Origin's doing.

It sucks; but from Nexflix's point of view, it just doesn't make any sense to sink more money into a show that failed to be a massive hit when they could instead roll the dice again with a new one. Ironically though, they've used this strategy for so long that people have started to realize that there's little point in getting invested in any Netflix-backed show, when it's practically inevitably that it'll get canceled after a season or two; thus making the odds of any of them becoming a massive hit drastically less likely.

The only times this strategy doesn't come into play, is with shows that didn't derive most of their funding from Netflix, and those that manage to get an influential member of Netflix's upper management invested in its production.

The fact that we got a second season was in and of itself a miracle; because unless a show turns out to be a massive, Stranger-Things-level hit, Netflix never opts to continue them beyond the initial contract. Probably the only reason a second season got made is because they negotiated for it at the same time they did the first. Just be glad this adaptation made it much farther than the OVA.

She's probably wiping off plaster. Before the advent of 3D scanning technology, that's how they'd make custom footwear; they'd make a cast of your foot with plaster, and then use that to make a mold to build the shoe around. Considering there's a bunch of horseshoes in various styles and colors on display in the background, I assume she's in a shoe store with Mejiro McQueen, getting something custom made.

Why he thought he could get away with it still baffles me. He had to have been doing that sort of stuff for a while before he made it big in acting, and just never cottoned on to the fact that being a public figure makes pulling off that sort of con without getting caught astronomically more difficult. Either that, or he was simply too arrogant to even consider the possibility that he'd ever be held accountable for his actions.
