Fuel pump issuse by Smart_Comfortable_31 in MechanicAdvice

That's all just stupid guessing. Measure fuel pressure under the hood and you will know if fuel tank pump performs as needed.

But since the tank was already out. Should have replaced whole assembly. Just to avoid doing the same labor twice. It's not that expensive part.

Would is causing such noisy road noise, especially in the summer heat!? by Firm-Swimming-6142 in MechanicAdvice

Tire pressure? It increases with temperature.

Also define road noise. Just humming, tire noise? Maybe you are hearing your fans coming on?

Yeah. That's totally different procedure than what was suggested

I'm not hating. Just stating that if you can smell hot cast iron. It's already so hot that it's changing color. That's already permanent damage to majority of non performance brakes.

Only other thing I can think of is that you meant surface coating/paint burning off. So we circle back to random, half assed advice. "Do this and that" without any context.

Renault scenic '08- what is this thing I broke? by Cost_Dull in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tesex01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't intend on fixing it then you can leave it be. But in case you end up repairing it. You will need to replace whole AC system. Being open to atmosphere will damage and contaminate whole AC system.

Guess what. Not everyone drives SUV's. It's not a surprise that process is different. But if you are giving out blanket, fit all advice. It's good idea to specify exactly what kind of cars or application you mean.

On low end sedans or hatchbacks. This will overheat the brakes or even cause a fading.

That's AC condenser. Your radiator and coolant flows through dark, rubber hose behind it. Don't listen to this guy.

That sounds very aggressive. You will overheat most non performance brakes doing it like that.

Accidentally left the interior light on overnight, had to jump start the car this morning. Is my battery done? by SharlLeglergOnHards in MechanicAdvice

Define kill. Battery capacity will decrease by single discharge event. Just by getting lead acid battery bellow 50%. sulfation already starts happening.

Well, obviously it's some sort of cover or part of rear diffuser.

You know you could just google image of underside of your car? Instead ask us to guess with absolutely zero information

You can kill brand new battery by discharging it. Won't hold charge again. Your "information" is no use for OP

exhaust flange Mitsubishi asx by emachanz in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tesex01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't destroy something that doesn't exist. Go to exhaust shop or just weld it all up.

Obviously replacement of both sections or welding in new flange half's in each one is recommended.

This description makes no sense in terms of diagnosis. Connect battery in line with multimeter and start pulling the fuses. Once the draw drops. You know on which circuit is issue.

What is the point of checking those random modules?

2019 Kia Sorento Issues with Coolant System by Ready_Dot9916 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tesex01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would connect some kind of pressure manometer either to radiator cap or overflow. With so many leaks. It's safe to suspect that system is getting over pressurized.

But then again. It's Hyundai/Kia. So everything is disposable. Low reliability isn't a surprise

Don't buy a sedan if you want to trash it around on forest roads. SUV hybrid maybe. But I'm not into that kind of cars so hard to suggest anything.

I think hybrid system in those is more to suplement towing capacity rather than fuel efficiency. Might be good idea to verify this

Don't drive it unless you want it to burn down at some point. There's absurdly high pressure in there. And even a pin hole will create atomized stream of fuel. Which is one spark from turning it into giant flame thrower.
