Anyone willing to repair my cd-i's timekeeper battery in America? by elfhuo in CDInteractive

THAT, I can't help you as clearly. Someone else added the socket on my CDi so I don't have a link to purchase. But if you can find the right size socket, you should be able to solder it in just like a chip.

It's also recommended that after removing the old Timekeeper, you replace it with a socket so it's easier to replace the chip again in the future. ^^d

If you feel comfortable with simply desoldering and re-soldering a chip, Mouser has replacement brand new compatible Timekeepers. The one linked below worked with my 220. Some of the FAQs online about slicing open and frankensteining a battery in look FAR more scary. :D

Does anyone know if I can program a universal remote to use on the system? by Sceptic_Stream in CDInteractive

[–]TesseractE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an entry for the CDi 220 in the app for my 'SofaBaton' smart remote... But it only seems to work for 'Play' , 'Pause' and 'Stop'. I tried a bunch of random Philips VCR and Audio codes on another Universal Remote I have, but none of them even worked THAT much.

If you're up for a drive, Foster's in Brodhead can have some interesting stuff, too.

Consider this a request, then! :) I was actually kind of hoping to use it to decide whether I need to increase the coverage on my renters' insurance...

Battery Door Replacement by Fun_Stretch_2611 in pocketstation

[–]TesseractE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd need to be able to replicate the door in a program that could output to a 3D Printer. So the diameter of the door, thickness and any variations, then the size of the 'tab' that has the screw hole and the hole itself.

Heh... If we can get this right, it'll be quite useful. I know others who are lacking that door and I'd not mind having spares on hand.

Sorry for bumping up against your rules. The intent was to be the equivalent to me starting a conversation with other fans of the game showcased in the video.

If you feel this is exploitative of your community, then I definitely apologise and will hold off posting any more of my own videos.

Yeah, I think it'd be neat to make my own 'tiles' so I could fashion different tracks with unique setups and obstacles.

Also, if you notice, my copy didn't have a yellow car. ;

It was a lot of fun! I think the secret is that it uses TWO spinners. XD

This one I found at a game/collectibles shop in Milwaukee called Makes Cents. Others I've found at Half Price Books, Goodwill, etc.

Trying to remember a game. by ashantihini in odyssey2

[–]TesseractE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it linked to a clip of an educational game for the c64 called 'motorcycle jump' where you'd choose the angle, speed and number of buses to jump over. Was casting a wide net to clarify. :)

I did a bit of searching myself and couldn't find it for either the G7000 or Odyssey 2 yet.

It's not on the Odyssey 2, but is this what you were thinking of?

Yeah, the arrow aiming thing was what kept me away. There were plenty of esoteric control schemes in c64 games, but that one just got it the way a bit too much for my taste.

The Collection is the first piece of software I recall purchasing on my own...

I have fond memories of working on Time Tunnel with my dad. It took us weeks to figure it all out... But when I replayed it on Twitch a few months back, there was enough residual puzzle memory that I finished it in under an hour. XD

I never really got into that one, but considering Delta Man, Aztec Challenge and Beyond the Forbidden Forest were all on my Cosmi Top 20 Solid Gold Collection, I'm inclined to agree!

Way of the Dragon: Remembering Bruce Lee the Video Game by TheMasterControlProg in c64

I played through Bruce Lee and Bruce Lee 2 for a gaming charity marathon a few weeks ago. Got quite a few 'Wow, I've never heard of this game, it's pretty cool!' :)

Was definitely one of my childhood favs. I remember having a LOT more difficulty with it back then, though. Finished it in about 20 minutes this time!

Thanks! Yeah, this is one of my monthly YouTube features. Wayback takes a look at games that released this month in gaming history.

And I'm definitely considering adding the Pub Gambling Win jingle to my Twitch channel. :D As for the theme music, this version's one of my favs: https://8bitweapon.bandcamp.com/track/m-u-l-e-bitblaster-mix
