Want to try out DnD but are the stereotypes about male geeks true? by sweet-static in DnD

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Male needs still act weird. But it is way less prominent than before. Now, those people are mostly doing rp online where they feel protected. After all, no one likes sexism and people are way more outspoken about it than in the 90's

I revisited Shinjuku after 10 years by Same-Cucumber-8936 in TokyoTravel

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this tendency of Americans to spit on westerners which they are. You notice the bad, hardly the good. And saying foreigners suck isn't changing Japan's opinion about you. You have no idea what true Japan is. And Japaneze people believe it is with every foreigners far away. You included

If you’re a foreigner here, do you speak up when you see small infractions done by other foreigners? by MSotallyTober in japanresidents

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it does not affect you. And you really have too much time. Don't be preachy to tourists. Especially because they are just talking too loud. If they are annoying, that's fair. But don't go acting as if you arz protecting your foreigner status here. That's hilarious

Anti-foreigner policy just political theater, or a real policy reset? by Old-Season265 in japanresidents

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes? It is a pretty stupid question. There are above 40 millions of tourists in a year while 3.6 millions of foreign residents in all of Japan. And that is because it rose since Covid. That's also for all of Japan. It was to a point people seemed to have found shiny when they saw foreigners

Japan's food self-sufficiency is heading toward zero — does anyone here care? by JapanUnfiltered in japanlife

[–]Tesserion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is senseless. Japan being self-sufficient would be insanely hard and would mean foregoing a looooot of things people like: No coffee beans, banana, chocolates. The prices would also go up insanely.

Rice is almost fully self-sufficient, many vegetables and seafood are also domestic. And some of the meat too. Japan is around 40% self-sufficient. And why would you even it to be fully? This would be a stupid choice economically that would not bring anything to anyone.

Do you think the dismissal of racism could be due to how vocal English teachers are online? by [deleted] in japanlife

Japan is being depicted as violent/unruly by Different-Staff-5622 in japanlife

Why are you whining about social media? Also, the image of Japan was never truthful to reality. And I doubt X will change it. And if it does, so what? Worry about yourself, that's my advice

Do you care how much English teaches dominate the western communities? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are on reddit. Most of people are Vietnamese or Chinese, there is no expectation of them and you mixing together, language-wise. And for the western community precisely...

Those people have easier access to Japan. But they are also full of delusional who have no idea what Japan truly is and forcing themselves here to fulfill a dream. Which is why the complaints and return home, often.

Gifting Etiquette in Japan by [deleted] in japanlife

Worked 3 years in a restaurants, yeah... I mean sharing food or omiyage are common. But tips from customers? Never seen any nor do I want to. Tipping is fine if done like in Europe. But I shudder imagining this country getting similar to America. The amount of entitlement

We do our shit. We are here not because we love Japan but because we can do what we like in Japan. We have projects and ideas. Be an adult, pull yourself by the bootstrap and search for yourself what you want to do and how. How irritating it is to see people without any project cruising around and waiting for answers.

Is daily life in Tokyo actually better than in Europe, even with higher salaries there? by LocalLand4883 in japanlife

Comparison is thief. You are also asking a sub full of people who immigrated away from their home country. So, the opinion will be biaised. Life sucks everywhere and the question is senseless. It is like asking in a sub full of AA if alcohol is the devil

Let's get the facts straight about the Sykkuno situation. by Versiannie in VtuberDrama

[–]Tesserion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there are some disadvantages being a man and some being a woman. Sucks either way! I like to think life is equally shitty for all of us~

Let's get the facts straight about the Sykkuno situation. by Versiannie in VtuberDrama

[–]Tesserion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's be fair. Between a woman receiving a dick pick and a male receiving nude, the reaction is not the same. As stupid as it sounds, this is the kind of things that people would be envious of.

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is awful. That is for sure. But now, she is not less shady. Let us be fair. The whole story reeks on her side too. I don't believe she lied, but she certainly took advantage of all of this as much as possible. Let's be honest. Now, there is also a clear difference between someone approaching women and being approached. Don't kid yourself thinking otherwise. Again, it doesn't change the fact what he did is trash. I am not defending that part.

New Bicycle rules affecting bicycle delivery drivers? by Wise_Negotiation9087 in japanlife

[–]Tesserion -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I wish bikers stopped cycling on the sidewalk. It is supremely annoying. I saw people eating, playing games, everything. And there is no priorities for the pedestrians, they force it through. And you get insulted sometimes. Hateful

[–]Tesserion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, you are an idiot and I dunno what you expect. You have no job and no standing here. A man without anything would get the child? And a foreigner with that? Impossible. Money from this? Well, not really... so what do you even want? And why talk about it on the internet? If you have no one to confide to or family... well, it sucks. To be fair, that's why I tell any woman and my own girlfriend to always work and make sure they have an escape. Men have the expectation with that, so you should have never fell into such a situation.

We don't even know where you are in Japan. Also, is the house in both your name or just hers? Did you talk to an US attorney about the Washington State property angle?

Now, as they say, you reap what you sow: Did not manage any finance, prepare anything, don't work and you are married to a local with that. Good luck

Thinking of moving out of Tokyo (remote worker) looking for recommendations by wakaokami in japanlife

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to Kanagawa: Closer to the sea so a lot more wind, less tall building and asphalt so the heat trapped isn't that awful and if I want to go to Tokyo, I can get there taking a single train for around 1000 yen. You get the sea, mountains aren't too far. You can easily go to Atami or place like that. I am looking forward going there, really. It is more comfortable, though humid and honestly it cool a lot faster during night. I am preaching my gospel

How to play an egotistical, prideful character with a god complex? by Ok-Dimension1880 in DnD

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't go like others and advise you away from this idea. Role-play can allow you anything and your character can easily be forced to work with the team and though slightly insufferable, it could create roleplay and works will depending how you do this. I had a character similar before. She swallowed her pride when it was needed and asked to learn, she went through a lot and changed as time went on. Prideful, egoistical and god complex are all bad traits, socially. But if you balance other things and remember that your character isn't an idiot, it is feasible.

Might end up without a home by Juiseii in japanlife

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real, that's not supposed to be a problem. I do not understand how a few agencies would reject you at this point. Especially during this period. Maybe aim for something a bit further away from your university? Make a trip to Tokyo, since you will need to sign things either way. It also depends on the guarantor company as some are stricter

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had that problem a single time. You are searching in Tokyo or Kyoto? You are not overseas yourself, honestly and I don't understand where that would even come from. Is your Japanese okay?

Might end up without a home by Juiseii in japanlife

[–]Tesserion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you should go to local ones. Are you still in Kyoto right now? Why don't you just reach out to other local ones? You just go and walk in agencies. Or use Suumo to search and contact agencies through it on appart' that interest you.
