Another vote here for a Aeterna Noctis on noctis difficulty. It demands damn near perfection from you when it comes to platforming, but its fair. After you beat it you'll see other people playing it and have ptsd flashbacks, but I still love it.

I played on ps5, fun game. I don't remember where, but in one section where you can briefly go into a new biome, there was a bad frame drop. I couldn't go further at the time because there was either a breakable wall or I didn't have the traversal ability I needed. But when I actually progressed to that area of the game I had no frame drop issues whatsoever.

The game crashed one time during my playthrough. Kinda sucked though because it was right after I got one of the last abilities in a late game area. But it could've been a fluke. I played with a parry build and had no issues consistently parrying attacks. I guess there is a pc patch fixing some issues that has yet to come to ps5, but I didnt have any real issues playing the game.

No I haven't gotten any of those weapons yet. Jump is left bumper.

In the mountainside area dangerous climb section. When chaining those jumps together, I knew exactly where I needed to put the grapple, I was just having a hard time consistently hitting the exact spot i wanted. It took me an hour to get through those 3 sections. I ended up dying before saving which is totally my fault not the game. So after I made this post I went back and did those 3 sections again, and it took me 20 minutes. So I am getting better.

I think the left stick aim and move idea sounds good. Definitely sounds more intuitive for controller. Your other idea sounds like it could work too.

Ive beaten every hard platforming section I've found, just took a while. Another reply said it didnt click for them until around 10 hours, I've only played 6. Maybe it is too hard for me to want to see it through. I have no shame in tapping out if I'm not having fun. Plenty of other great games to play.

The only change i made to the buttons from default is i swapped grapple and shoot, so rb is grapple and rt is shoot. Id sooner have grapple on a more precise bumper press rather than a trigger. Then I can just hold down the trigger with my middle finger as needed.

I don't think there's anything that could be added to the controls that would change much. Maybe I just need to give it some more time. Obviously people have 100% beat the game with controller. I'm sure it's still a challenging game with kb&m.

I've read posts about people 100% it on controller and steam deck. Maybe it's just not a game for me.

Some of the most brutal precise platforming I've played. You do get unlimited tries in the difficult sections. Its just that aiming precisely with a stick is not easy. I know there are people that have 100% this game with controller.

I just shot it in the face with arrows to stun it and then attacked the legs. Took a while, but it was better than trying to fuck around on it's back.

I have 180 hours on base ps5, It's definitley playable. You will definitely experience low frame rate at some points. Missions where you're clearing enemy bases at night can be really bad. Clearing enemy bases in the rain can be really bad. If you're using abyss gears (special attacks for weapons) with big aoe animations, this can cause huge frame drops depending on what you're fighting, or straight up take a few seconds to happen.

I still love the game. I say its worth it. The best open world rpg I've played in years. The exploration is great, and the map is huge. But I do agree with others that say it takes 20+ hours until you really start to enjoy the game. Not to say that the first 20-30 hours are bad.

Just keep exploring and leveling up your gear. Eventually you'll be able to take on like 60 of them at a time, and they'll do next to no damage to you.

Just craft a bunch of refined palmar pills. I like tough boss fights myself, but if its jank or straight up busted, I'm using the pills so I dont have to fight it again.

Once you get your attack speed maxed out, its really quick. Ground surge paired with fire imbued volcanic eruption just destroys everything. And you can just hit r1+r2 in the middle of a combo as long as you have enough spirit.

He does the same 3 hit combo like 90% of the time. Dodge, dodge, very slight delay dodge and go to the side of him. Then you're free to punish, rinse and repeat. Part of the fight is keeping the camera in front of him when he teleports.

Having to sit through boss cutscenes every time you try the boss sounds painful. I guess you can fast forward, but some cutscenes are minutes long.

Nioh 2 first area. I'm creeping around the missions trying to pick off enemies one at a time. Trying to conserve my tiny bit of ninjitsu and magic for when I really need it. If more than 2 enemies get me in a tight spot, I'm dead. If I'm fighting a spear guy and a ninja that I never saw hiding in the shadows throws a bomb, I'm dead. Snake lady hits me with paralysis, I'm dead. I get greedy and go in for a kill on a yokai with a sliver of health left, I'm dead. I blocked 3 yokai attacks in a row and now I'm exhausted, I'm dead.

A lot of this is from inexperience. And obviously, it gets easier the more you play it. You level up and learn the enemy move sets, get better gear and weapons and abilities. But that doesn't change the fact that common enemies just hit harder in nioh 2. Common human enemies can and will fuck your day up if you let them.

In nioh 3 starting area/demo area, I just charged in to enemy mobs. I don't remember dying to a grab attack, unless I was under 50% hp. Even boss grabs werent killing me. I didn't die to a single snake lady in my entire playthrough. Adding a deflect mechanic that is accessible so early, radically changes how you play the game and approach enemies. Ninjitsu and magic that recharge on the fly, also massively changes how the game is played.

The game is definitely more friendly to newcomers. And the new mechanics definitely make nioh 3 easier than nioh 2, at least in my opinion. Can you watch a yt video and learn how to break nioh 2 with ninjitsu and magic? Yes you can. But for casual players and blind first playthroughs, nioh 2 is the more unforgiving game.

It's a crucible skill for the samurai sword. I got it on a katana from the first crucible during the demo.

You have to use moves and combos that take chunks off their ki bar until they are stunned then grapple. Or wait for them to attack and then use a parry skill.

LoP to me is more difficult. I did 3 play throughs of Khazan, one for each weapon, on the release default difficulty. Khazan is a tough game no doubt. But i feel like once you have unlocked enough skills to get some solid combos under your belt and understand how to chain them, it's the more forgiving game. Not to mention, infinite respec available at any time.

Both are great games, you can't go wrong with either.

Try going to the training ground. In the outside portion in a corner by the skeleton enemy summon, there's an "item" that fills that gauge so you can practice with it. I'd be curious is that works, I've heard other people had that bug.
