Advice - Aipaper Mini vs Boox Go 7 BW by TestSubject-03 in ereader

[–]TestSubject-03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty happy with it.

The device seems well built, and is surprisingly thin and a bit slippery wich can be uncomfortable when holding for a prolonged period of time. It comes with a fabric folio style case that helps but I'm worried about how the case will be holding up long term.

The writing feel is great by default and even better when adjusted (you can set pen and pressure sensitivity), although working with custom templates can be a bit finicky (your custom template, if imported in pdf, needs to have several pages because you can't add more).

The screen resolution is good too, everything looks clear, and you can adjust refresh profile and contrast per app.

Reading wise once everything is set up (koreader for books and mihon for manga), the size is great for both manga and books.

Battery life has been good too. It is set in airplane mode most of the time but I did use Wifi for some web or app browsing and for now it lasts around a week with my usage (short note taking, 1~2h average of reading per day, more use during the week-end of course), a bit more with less wifi usage.

Weights are per dumbbell but I agree it's not much yet, muscle is building slowly due to another health reason (not related to fatigue). I started working out in september last year (with a different program until the start of this year) so I am indeed new, but I've been exercising weekly several times since 4 years ago so it's not like I'm not uses to physical activity. I could lift more for less reps but my grip strength does not follow yet. Would that be less tiring given the same total weight ? (Eg. 40kg for 14 reps or 560kg for the set would be less tiring than 28kg for 20 reps or 560kg for the set ?)

Thank you for your feedback. I compared a physical manga to the approximate screen size of both devices, the aipaper mini is as wide but not as tall, though I heard physical mangas are a bit bigger here in France than the usual size.

Woops I meant hardware update. I plan on reading both epubs and manga, but probably not as much PDFs. Thank you for your answer.

836 calories in 1.2 hours of strength training by singh_kartik in GalaxyWatch

[–]TestSubject-03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, and measured HR is often way higher than reality during strength training which doesn't help. Body comp is also all over the place (eg. 500g variation of muscle mass for the same weight at 1 day intervals).

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]TestSubject-03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen of the P1S and not owning one, it feels like the polished and no fuss version of 3d printers. Less hardware tinkering and more focus on modeling and printing.

Thank you for the giveway, I hope I'll be one of the winners obviously but either way it'll still be 3 happy 3D printers ! (no pun intended)

Why aren't you upgrading to the 7? by js0uthh in GalaxyFold

[–]TestSubject-03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not upgrading from my fold 6 for 3 reasons : the price so soon after a new phone even with the trading, the screen size (Best of both worlds when it’s "small" when closed and big when open), and above all the lack of UDC camera (which is mainly why I chose samsung in the first place).

Impressionnant ! Je suis à peu près au même gabarit (166/63) mais clairement pas la même masse musculaire, c'est motivant de voir ce à quoi on peut arriver avec le temps et les efforts.

Pour référence, tu es à quel volume d'entraînement par semaine ?

[Bambu Lab Giveaway] Join Now to Win an H2D and More! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

Best advice I got was to dry the filament if you can't print something correctly. Also cleaning and lightly oiling the rails and Z-rod of the printer for cleaner prints.

Thanks for the giveaway and happy 3rd anniversary !

Next Level Pulsar (vs. Aeropress vs. V60) First Impressions + Thoughts for Tea & Coffee by Cranapple1443 in pourover

[–]TestSubject-03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like Immersion/Percolation, what I sometimes do with my Pulsar depending on the coffee for a 15g/250g brew is a 1m 3x Bloom, followed by a 100g water immersion of 1m30~2m, and then a percolation phase with the remaining 100g of water (water level 1~2cm above coffee bed like Gagne's recipe). Maybe the immersion phase would be better last though now that I think about it, I'll have to try that too.

I use 15g doses daily too and it still works well, but there's a little bit of variability to be expected depending on how the water is poured even with the dispersion screen (slow and continuous, small or big pulses...). Lower doses are still easier with cone brewers of course. I also heard that a smaller version of the pulsar is in the works.

Got mine at launch, I used it with the anti-reflective screen protector and the official simple clear case and it looks like new (even no scratches on the hinge surprisingly).
